Ummmm…isn’t fanatics getting into repacks? If so, that’s exactly what they’re doing. Buying up singles to prop up the market and then selling repacks.

The repack market is certainly propping up prices of singles. But it's also a competitor to new product, which is where Fanatics wants hobby gambling money flowing to.

I dont have the data. But the dramatic drop in sports card single prices since the pandemic peak, the pricing-out of traditional collectors/hobbyists, the emphasis on gambling in the hobby, and the recent resurgence in Pokemon and it's popularity with collectors and flippers has me believing the sports card hobby has been in decline for years aside from the gambling side.

Wowzers.

That'll buy some singles.

Incredible pull, congratulations! You definitely need to consign. Your sale price will most likely be more and your fees will most likely be less going that route.

Why would you use pandemic pricing as your starting point?

I bought a personal breakers delight box, against my better judgement. I got lucky and probably at least got my money back on it.

Nolan Ryan World Series Champions Autograph

He had to use outlier data to make his point. He knows that wasn't normal pricing. It never was.

On an unrelated note, Kohls stock price today is $12.79. That proves the stock market is trending down since it once sold at over $60 a share. That is an obvious downward trend. Beware of investing in the stock market right now.

Awesome hit! Congratulations

I would think redeeming the card, AND THEN consigning it would be the way to go.

The saying is “mine eye affecteth my heart”, and you will likely get more when people see the actual card and not the redemption card. Plus it should be near playoff time of which these Stars will be center stage.

I agree as well. And Topps has been on it recently with redemptions. I think these type of cards are already made and ready to ship. They just don't want to risk these big cards from disappearing into a box that never gets opened.

As someone who primarily collects singles, I have NOT seen any dramatic drop in singles prices. If anything singles prices are rising, especially for auto cards of popular players. I've gotten significantly outbid on quite a few auto cards recently that I would have won a couple of years ago.

Fanatics upped their website prices.

From $240 to $290 for hobby and jumbo from $450 to $550. WTF.
