Do average break participant smucks really believe they have a chance at pulling the biggest card in a product?

It is literally a winning lottery ticket. Would you want all your neighbors knowing that you won the lotto? The harassment, scams and potential theft are all real concerns.

I am going to speculate they informed Topps directly and now are going through what to do with the card. I would also guess said card is in a safe deposit box until an exchange happens.
This. If it were me or my kid who hit the card, I wouldn’t want to be flooded with all these questions, conspiracy theories, marketing requests, advice, etc.

Or, is it possible the Skenes redemption code was inputted a while ago, but Topps/Fanatics slow-rolled it to let inventory clear out?

Or, maybe Topps/Fanatics held back the box with the Skenes card and waited until most or all inventory sold out to release it into the wild?

I can go all day with these theories, folks.
Or the case that had the hit was wrapped in red tape a la McFarlane variant cases of yesteryear.

I did. And when it didn't happen, I sighed and said, " I sure hope it goes to an 11 year old kid of a mega breaker" and went on about my day.

Excited for what? To stop buying the product?

Sorry, you're going to need a better explanation if you're accusing Topps of lying about the biggest chase card of the product being hit.

Who knows, but there are plenty of breaker haters that believe that they have no chance of hitting any big cards because they believe that Fanatics hand picks which breakers gets them all.

So you’re saying there’s a chance Topps says, “Oops, turns out the card wasn’t pulled. Keep ripping!” and then the card will get pulled a second time?

to keep buying in general.
to keep them thinking "hey, if an 11 year old can hit that, maybe i can hit something big in my next rip"

people are dumber than you are giving them credit for.

I've never once recorded myself opening a pack. Neither have 90% of collectors.

Revealing your identity when you pull a 6 figure card is stupid. Especially if it's a kid.

You usually aren't the tin foil hat type, but there is literally no reason to fake this news.

I know Fanatics doesn't care (as noted by killing the black parallel), but could you imagine the s*** show that would occur if this was a lie and the card was pulled at a later date?

you also are not an 11 year old opening a ~$500 box of cards in the LOOK AT ME internet age.

That's an extreme take, even for you. Talk about jaded.

Most 11 year olds opening baseball cards aren't recording themselves. You have been fooled by your bubble on the internet. That's not reality for the vast majority of this hobby.

I know dozens of young collectors that aren't even allowed to have phones at 11. There are more kids like that than you want to admit.

i would also say that most 11 year olds are not opening $500 boxes of cards and if they are, its with their father who should be smart enough to have his phone handy

That's so weird that Topps took it upon itself to send it off to get graded. /S

Is that enough proof that maybe the card was actually pulled? Or are you adamant about needing to see a picture of an 11-year old holding the card?

Michael could have pulled it out of his safe where it was sitting next to the Topps NOW Olympics Triple Auto

I’m serious - is this true??? I have never recorded myself opening a box, but I’m a little older and possibly behind the times.

Do we think this? Do we know this? Can we prove this?

I really find it funny at all the people defending fanatics here

Like...what is your angle? They've raised the prices and lowered value to all time lows on most cards
