It will be interesting to follow this, see back story of who pulled it, how much it sells for etc. I read-forget where and nothing trustworthy by any means-that the kids dad owns a major breaker site-I don't follow or really do breaks so not familiar with them. I hope it is just a regular random kid than that kind of situation.

Ken Goldin seems to think it's worth that much, as he said he's hoping to donate $200k or more from the auction. 22% buyer's premium means it needs to sell for about $909k

He is in LA...Pirates are too cheap to buy tickets behind homeplate at Dodger Stadium...not even a 1/4 season, let alone 30 years. LOL

I believe this was discussed in one of the other threads, but the Pirates giving away a pair of season tickets for 30 years really doesn't cost them anything.

Huh, is Paul Skenes a card collector? If not, why would he care about a silly Debut Patch card? I assume he has the actual jersey he wore in his debut, with all the stitched-on patches -- not a gimmicky sticker patch.

Now, if it was a card collector like Bobby Witt Jr, I could kind of see him pinning for it.

I'm guessing it's the go-to auction house for ultra-modern high-end?

Either way, Kenny certainly knows how to generate PR to promote auctions.

Not sure if he’s a collector or not. I do think people value the debut patches more than you do though. It was on him for his MLB debut. He probably still has everything else he wore for that game. Just hearing Livvy talk about it and offer up the offer, made me think they may want it.

Just curious what proof you're looking for? A screenshot of the redemption? The processing page?

Are we questioning whether it was actually pulled? It would make zero sense for Topps to post it on all of their social media accounts if it wasn't verified.

I would take not having pictures of the person with the redemption over there being a screenshot from some livestream or video of the pack opening. The conspiracy theorists are still going to be out in full force, but not having any pictures of it kind of proves that Fanatics/Topps isn't directing all the big hits to their favorite breakers.

i dont take Fanatics' word for anything. So them saying it was pulled means nothing.

Prove it. show images of the kid holding it (blur his face if that is a concern)

If this is true, that the kid's father is a big-time breaker, is it possible the father is using his kid as a sort of front or shield for himself?

Like, people see the headline of an 11-year-old pulling and redeeming the card and think it's a nice story and don't pry too deep into it. The kid is being used by the father as a front/shield so people don't scrutinize the story -- kids are still a bit of a taboo subject on social media.

Wouldn't it be MORE suspicious if Fanatics had a photo of the kid holding a redemption card?

I am sure it was pulled, as announcing it doesn't help Topps sell product. If it was me that pulled it, I would not want Topps to announce it. I am sure the fine print says it is within their right to do so, but but most people would want to just quietly collect their card and do with it as they wish.

I am not surprise they haven't revealed the kid, the card or anything

It is literally a winning lottery ticket. Would you want all your neighbors knowing that you won the lotto? The harassment, scams and potential theft are all real concerns.

I am going to speculate they informed Topps directly and now are going through what to do with the card. I would also guess said card is in a safe deposit box until an exchange happens.

Again, what benefit would there be for Topps to announce that the card was pulled if it hadn't actually?

This community is so weird. It complains all the time about everyone filming their pack openings. Then it complains when someone doesn't film it and doesn't take pictures of it.

it gets the sheep excited during a down week.

Fanatics has been pumping Transcended this week, and thats not a release the sheep really care about, its more for the break addicts.

I’m assuming the only reason Topps found out right away was because it was a redemption. If it had been pulled in a break from a major breaker, we would have seen it all over YouTube/IG already.

At this point, I have no reason to doubt anyone involved. We’ll see if that changes.

If the kid's father is a breaker, is it possible the card was pulled a while ago, but only now redeemed? So the father could continue to sell TCU breaks with participants still thinking they had a chance at pulling the Skenes?

Or, is it possible the Skenes redemption code was inputted a while ago, but Topps/Fanatics slow-rolled it to let inventory clear out?

Or, maybe Topps/Fanatics held back the box with the Skenes card and waited until most or all inventory sold out to release it into the wild?

I can go all day with these theories, folks.

I don't think they reached out to Topps in any way other than entering the redemption. I think Topps got the notification of the code being submitted and reached out to the family.

Let the kid/family have their anonymity.
