I got 6 SGC 10’s the last 10 card Ohtani sub. My current SGC sub received is a lot more variety. We will see what happens.

Stating the obvious here but I really wish I'd bought a few more back then, lol.

I'm continuing to struggle to shed the memory of selling my pack pulled, magnificent condition, Topps Chrome refractor for $35 in March. Irks me still.

I don’t go into Vlad thread, have nothing big of him, and bash him. That is classless. People go into player threads all the time and do that. I saw it in the Luka thread also. The crazy stuff is too much. Enjoy the hobby and all the exciting players. If you just flipping, there are lots of players that will make you money. Ohtani is great for the game and should be MVP, but stranger things have happened.

The Vlad/Ohtani animosity is absurd and it was greatly exacerbated by one poster. A lot of people followed suit though.

Just watch the games, collect, flip, invest, buy/sell whoever you want. We aren’t the ones making headlines, the players are. We are just fans and collectors.

I would love to see them both succeed. If another player’s success or failure makes you start a flame war in another player’s thread, you’re doing this hobby thing wrong.

I haven't read anyone bashing him the past couple of days..
Stating Vladdy has a shot at MVP if Ohtani keeps struggling the rest of the season and Vladdy rakes, thats not bashing. saying Ohtani is hitting .194 the past 30 games isn't either... its just facts, which might lead to him not winning..

I don't see it as bashing, I see it as reality.

Someone asked who else might win MVP other than Ohtani.. and of course if someone says maybe Vladdy, thats bashing Ohtani?? come on

Ohtani himself would be the first to admit he has not been doing great at least the past month.. its normal, its called playing a full baseball season.. but its not bashing him

i think the issue you're running into is that Ohtani is having one of the greteast seasons of our lifetime and will win the mvp even if he gets injured tomorrow, and to try and act like this isn't the case, especially in that player's thread, is pretty obnoxious.

If Vlad gets the triple crown and Ohtani falls flat on his face, I can see Vlad getting MVP. If Ohtani wants to lock it away, he needs to start the 50/25 or even 30 club with 10 wins, if he gets to that, I dont see Vlad taking it, even with a triple crown.

Well so far Ohtani has been falling flat on his face if you see his last 30 games.. thats why im saying its possible as he has been fading.. Regarding injury he also hasn't been able to pitch because of it, and who knows if he will be 100% this Friday... we don't know that, neither does the very own Ohtani.

Thats why I say there might be a 10% chance Vladdy wins MVP in my opinion.

When people say Ohtani is doing something no one has ever done before, sure but hey so has Vladdy... since 1967 only Miguel Cabrera won it in 2012 at age 29.. imagine if Vladdy gets it at age 22

I repeat (SLIM CHANCE) but nonetheless there is one... and no its not bashing Ohtani lol, its actually simply answering someones question if anyone else had a shot.

If in your own words Vlad has a 10% chance. With one month to go, you're basically saying Ohtani has pretty much locked it up. Both parties are saying the same thing.

By no means is it a lock yet.

That 10% could be 50% or 1% in 2 weeks

I dont gamble, but I do have quite a lot of money in cards of both.
I would actually prefer Ohtani to win so I can unload a few as I dont plan holding him for years to come. Im just being realistic at 10% chance

Vlad probably needs to put up another 50-60% WAR in the last month vs. what he’s done the entire rest of the year to be competitive with Ohtani’s likely finish.

That feels challenging.

AND… if that is all it requires for Vlad to win, he may be one of the lowest performing MVP winners I can think of in the last 10-15 years. Pretty crazy how low the bar seems in ‘21.

Between MVP and ROY, its been kind of a weak year. Even Cy Young isnt all that great aside from a couple standouts.
