I like that Griffey. After 99k, probably a good shot at MSRP?

No one's gonna get rich off buying this stuff from this point on, that ship has sailed and people need to stop kidding themselves. The prices are dropping because the speculators started to outnumber the collectors too greatly and are dumping en masse. If you are buying anything other than the first 10-15 cards produced right now don't fool yourself into thinking they will all of the sudden start climbing again because they wont.

Just grab the cards you like for $20 and dont worry about the value and you will be happy

Anybody that is ready to get out, I will pay $20 per card for anything in hand. You can keep the boxes and sell those for $4 each and make money.

Somebody on Mercari has a 4 pack of Fucci Williams, Ermsy Ichiro, Siff Ryan and Efdot Ryan for under $1500. The Fucci was flying past $1000 last week. Wasn’t the Ichiro approaching that by itself?

Yay! Just bought a card that was way too high for me to buy a few days ago.

This is great for anyone that missed out on the early cards and are actually wanting them to collect and not just seeing them as $$. Even if prices fall more, Im happy to have the cards I have. Im not flipping so not losing any money. Good times!

Indeed! These cards are meant to be looked at, so I’d want to find a cool way to display but can’t dedicate wall space.

How many people dealing with people wanting refunds claiming “damage” - such BS.

This is a fascinating time to watch for someone who studies market dynamics as a profession. I can’t even believe people are allowed to sell things not in their possession. That alone is going to lead to thousands of failed transactions.

Hindsight is 20-20. I'm astounded there are so many pure speculators in the baseball card market.

Are any of the people posting their top tens taking the trade offers they are getting? Or just pumping their inventory?

Do they have the card? If they don't, it's a slam dunk for you.

Are you not aware of case breaks and box wars? The hobby has been taken over by gambling.

You know this thread is exactly like the penny stock forums! Anyone still showing optimism is heavily invested and is praying to the gods that the bubble has not burst! But it clearly has people, I predict these cards settle at 80% off their highs.

Congrats to those that sold high and my condolences to those that bought high!

As an observer, there are two things that have occurred to me.

First, when I sell cards (and its not often) I tend to roll the proceeds into more cards. What will happen if returns start to pile up, but sellers have already reallocated the money to other purchases?

Second, if low print run is so alluring and you're trying to profit (not strictly collecting for the sake of collecting), wouldn't topps gold rookies /2018 of acuna/soto/gleyber be better purchases? I believe those can all be had cheaper than some of the low print runs of project 2020

Disclosure, I don't own any of the aforementioned cards, including from the project 2020 set.
