Default Some Star Team sets I picked up today

Do any of the companies actually grade these sealed packs and slab them?

Super fun pick up all our factory sealed. The person I purchased them from today says they have quite a bit more.

Also, in the collection was a Michael Jordan 10 card 1986 star set most of which was graded by Beckett, and a GAI graded Gatorade set with the Michael Jordan as well.

57 Total bags.

Nobody grades the sealed bags anymore,Unless its some 3rd rate tpg.....Beckett stopped years ago,GAI closed years ago.As long as the seals are good (original star heat seal) and not resealed anyone buying will know an original star heat seal.Anyone who collects these understands the sealed bags are not gradable anymore shouldn't cause an issue in selling down the road.

Agree for the most part but at the same time, given the money involved in some of these bag sets, one would have to ponder, how difficult is it to replicate a plastic bag? Not saying there are any fakes out there but just asking honestly.

Rebags can be a problem....but ive never seen a rebag that had the correct heat seal so there easy to spot.....and all the rebags ive ever seen were real star cards someone resealed to sell.by fakes you mean counterfeit cards?if so thats not a real problem with star, all the fakes are jordans and easy to spot.

Most of the star issues centered around the shop at home and type II cards....all real star cards just not lic due to back dating for the shop at home and an unauthorized printing in the type II case.more involved that this of course and no need to go in the weeds on it but thats the readers digest version.

I will say though that all the common bags that haven't really been worth a whole lot historically are now fetching much higher prices so who knows what the future holds on new problems.either way there's nothing the op can do to get the sealed bags slabbed currently.maybe BGS will go back to doing it in the future?

Yeah, but at the same time, i would have to guess that if someone spent enough time to study how it's done, the specific look of a Star bag seal can be duplicated. And it wouldn't surprise me if they already exist and no one has picked up on it yet because as you said, the prices keep climbing, further incentivizing people to do this.

Well anything is possible i guess.........truth be told if someone can replicate an original star heat seal and the cards are authentic (meaning a rebag) not that i would be happy about it but with such low print runs cant see where going thru everything needed to replicate a real star heat seal would be worth the problem.......you would need a lot of rebags for it to pay.

That Gold Medalist set is an Shop at home set. the best of the best set is a set not considered by most as legit....some grey area there.

Yes, Beckett won't grade these anymore (the Best of the Best set). That Crunch n' Munch looks really nice. PSA 8's of that do really well. I think there are are only 1 or 2 9's? Get inserts as well! Great cards, congrats.

Exactly.

OP doesn't seem to be aware of some of the issues with Star, two main ones which you mentioned. There is a REASON PSA and SGC didn't grade Star for many years. OP probably wasted a good amount of $$ with some of these questioble buys.
