Going to a PSA/fanatics-associated auction site soon!

LOL It’s not defending Fanatics. There is nothing to defend. It's defending logic and sound reasoning from bat crap crazy conspiracy theorists.

You're better than this. Whether you call it a "contract" or a written agreement or nothing at all, the fact is minors sell things, minors work, and minors do sign contracts for things like overnight field trips and behavior contracts at school. 14-year-olds can work at McDonalds. They can also seek mental health services without parental consent. Is an employment agreement a "contract"? No need to go down the rabbit hole of parent co-signers and what is and isn't legally enforceable. The IRS wouldn't even have literature on earned income for minors of it wasn't legal for a minor to earn income. You're splitting hairs even using the term contract.

Goldin will be cutting a promo for the auction, card in hand, within a few days.

Again, I’m assuming this was a redemption, the card never actually went to the kid, they contacted Goldin, Goldin had it sent straight to PSA, and now it’ll head back to Goldin for the auction. We could see this card on the jumbo screens in Times Square (he’s done it before).

Are they really going to make Paul Skenes go out and try to win the auction?

Does it matter? Reality doesn’t exist here anymore. Just make up the conspiracy theory that fits your need and run with it. I’ll admit, the stories are a lot more fun than the probable truth.

There’s only one piece of this that lends any credence to a conspiracy: this would have been a HUGE PR disaster for Topps/Fanatics if the redemption card would have ended up sitting in a hobby box in a wax collectors stash for the next 25 years. It would have become the next Longoria Superfractor mystery.

It’s strange that the identity of the parents has been kept secret for so long. They are hiding something.

If TMZ doesn’t know who the kid is yet, something really fishy is going on.

Don’t forget, I’m a 1%er.

For the record, I have never ever and don’t ever intend to ever film myself opening wax for myself or in front of a camera for thirty other men.

Why? Multiple states allow lottery jackpot winners to remain anonymous. These parents easily could have told Topps to not release their names.

It's been two days since was announced. With a card this big, Topps would have overnighted it to PSA and PSA would easily bump it to the front of the line.

We all like to think we are unique and special. Here's a hint: you aren't. It's normal and common to not film yourself opening cards.

They are trying to minimize public outrage based on the identity of the winner.

I’d be really upset if a large breaker’s “son” actually “pulled” it.

The irony is that every time a thread is made here asking what to do with a big pull, all the advice is to shut up, keep it quiet, and get it to a consignor right away. Yet when people do that, they are hiding something.

The braincells are lacking around here.

Defending Fanatics? If saying there's no chance that Topps is lying about the card being pulled is defending them, then, yes, we are defending Fanatics.

Really? I’d be publicizing the pull as much as possible. The more eyes that see it, the better.

If that kid posted the card here. He would immediately be accused of trying to pump his own sale, inundated with lowball offers, and labeled a PBM.

He meant the rare, elusive, ultra elite group of people who rip wax without filming it. Because according to some here, 99% of people film themselves while doing it.

I rarely rip wax, but I am also in this 1% group.

Getting the card to a cosigner as soon as possible is very good advice. Goldin will get all the eyes on the card that need to be on it.

Holding on to the card and asking this forum what they should do with the card is a bad idea. Sorry, there's no hidden billionaire lurking here that Goldin doesn't know about.

I think he would be congratulated as a celebrity.

Unless he was a breaker’s son.

Regardless, any publicity is good.
