My faith in humanity has been restored. I messaged the seller of the card I had in my cart when he raised the price about what happened. I figured it was worth a shot anyways. I didn't give sob story or anything, just mentioned I added it to my cart at 199 and went to pay at the same time he raised the price and asked if he'd still be willing to sell for the $199. He massaged back with a $199 offer and said "Absolutely Ill honor that price." Very cool of them to do that. I wont be buying anymore of the older cards, I snagged the Mays Saladeen and the Efdot Nolan Ryan. Aside from the Blake McGwire/ Thiele Jeter combo I bought from Topps, Ill just buy the combo from Topps from here on out.

The only other cards Id like to have are the Siff Ripken and the Saladeen Griffey but wouldn't pay what they are selling for. Id actually like to have the entire Saladeen run as his style has really grown on me but it will never happen.

Priceguy, with 122 5-star reviews on Mercari, just cancelled on a Thiele Trout after holding my money for 3 days and messaging me yesterday that it would ship Tuesday, cancelled my sale. I messaged him and he responded:

"Didn’t cancel due to that reason. I have plenty of those. I had 5 things damaged on mericari and eBay that got cancelled. A box going to post office fell of shelve. The case the card is in cracked. I tried to send you a message as I cancelled but it closed the sale. I was going to offer it to you at a discounted price due to crack case"

I wanted proof of the cracked case if he was serious. After 1 or 2 messages of discussion he blocked me. Guess he wasn't serious.

Probably. All of the cards in hand have gone up even if it is a little. Worst case scenario I only get 2x the value I bought them for. Not bad considering everything blows up like crazy

Funny you mention that. Ive been thinking about what I would have done if I had the money for it and bought every card when the set first debuted.

My idea would have been (assuming they sold at current prices) keep three sets.

One to display in pages because Im not a fan of encapsulated stuff unless its like a super high valued card

The second to keep in the cases to show off even though I just said im not a fan

The third, to sell once I have the full 400 card set. That is, to sell at any given time high value or not

thats ok, think of it this way.....

youll have 15 of the 20. *if* the set becomes something special, you'll have 75% at SRP

if the set bombs, you can then go and pick up the missing five and own a set that you can be proud to own

There have been days where they have been gone in under 5 seconds. If you've ever tried to use Topps garbage site you will know more often than not it takes more than 5 seconds just to add an item to cart let alone get all the way through checkout.
