Worse case, I doubt you’ll lose money on it....

Should I buy the current ryan and griffey from topps or pre order on ebay? Is it all a gamble on expected print run after sales stop or have earlier cards sold out quickly?

This, wait until tomorrow or Wednesday to see what may appeal to you. Make sure you get the 10% off for your first purchase from Topps.com

Look at the seller’s name. I would go near his listings.

This is a time not to nickel and dime. Don't fret overpaying by $5-$10 because it will be double the next day

Some people are just buying 20 copies of their favorite card and displaying that as a 'set'.

3 different questions

What card do you think will be the high PR ( I don't think we've seen it yet)

What do you think the high PR for this set will be (52.5k is my thought)

Where does the Baller Trout which is currently high PR end in the PR race? I am going to go with 9th. - somewhat educated guess, but all my others have sucked, so take it for what its worth.
So many Trouts, Ichiros & Griffeys (one that nearly took the lead)...Baller Trout could end up 15th.

edit: forgot Jeter....Baller Trout #27 (pun intended)

Don't think they initially said it on the first Vides releases. I could be wrong.

You captured the psychology I think a lot of us newcomers have been through.
Hindsight being 20-20, I think it's easier to focus on a few artist & players if/when playing catch up or just have fun collecting the new drops at Topps release prices. There are over 300 cards left and I assume some will be great.

My Father in law who hasn't bought cards in 20 years bought a few. 50k+ isn’t out of the question.

You're going to need more storage racks if you're jumping into P2020.

Welcome to the wild side!

Yeah I'm going to have to agree with this one. I think I offered $450 for an Ermsy Trout a couple days ago and the seller countered with $470. While I was thinking about it, it sold. And the rest, as they say, is history...

That might have been me. I sold one at $460 after listing for $470. And I shipped it yesterday!

The Don C, Frank Thomas card should be interesting. Its value is climbing incredibly fast and could be at a rediculous amount before it gets shipped in a month. I foresee a LOT of cancellations on those.
