Man, the more I look at the artwork on these, Mr. Cartoon is REALLY jumping out to me. With the exception of his Robinson, which depicts, to me at least, more Bo Jackson than Jackie Robinson, his cards have been stellar.

Guess I will add him to the list. Very cool stuff.

That's why I said if you DON'T need medical insurance. Obviously if you have to pay $1,000 a month for medical insurance that's different. I know plenty of people around my age, early 30s, that if they were given $500k right now they could and would retire.

I got an offer for my complete set on OfferUp for $150 million locally but I’m gonna think about it. I’ll be sure to update all of you.

I bet they had no idea this would get this popular

The big question I have is whether they plan/are able to react to it or if the delays will continue to get worse.

Based on what I've seen today, I think a 10 pack of the first 85 cards will be worth $500k by the end of the year. And yes I could for sure retire on an additional $500k in addition to everything else I currently have. Even if I didn't have a penny to my name I could come pretty close to retiring on just $500k.

Indeed it is. Also love the Gooden. Clemente is fire too, but not paying for that. It’s only straight from Topps from here on out.

Blake, Beck and now Mr. Cartoon. Those are my top 3. Have cards from a lot of different artists though.

Of course not. Not if you have a good plan.

Update: Thanks folks, I did just that -- and reminded him tomorrow was a holiday. Didn't get the Tracking Number, of course, but got this response:

Hi yeah I completely forgot tomorrow was a holiday, also I’d just like to say this isn’t a cancelation in anyway and after talking to some other buyers apparently this is a reoccurring problem with FedEx lately that usually solves itself.
Will update as soon as they come in.
Thanks again

So we'll see what happens. Who knew that buying into this set would come complete with intrigue!

You’re being low-balled. I got offered $300 million and the buyer didn’t even care to see what I had. I live in the LA area so I can probably find someone with deeper pockets. I’ll be sure to update all of you.

These posts remind me of letters to Penthouse Forum years ago.

Dear Penthouse Forum,

I always thought the letters you published were made up. But last week two coeds moved in next door and asked me for help with some boxes. I'm just an average guy - 6'2", blond hair, muscular physique, 10"...

I live in an area that is inexpensive. If you live in LA, San Fran, New York, big money places $500k is going to get you nowhere. I live on the $30-$35k a year I make after taxes where I live.

I bought the Trout Ballers on April 30 and just received today. So looking at 3-4 weeks. As the print runs increase it will take longer and longer to receive.

I thought the argument was pre-sellers not shipping when they get them in hand? Topps is behind back to the Baller Mike Trout. Anyone selling any release prior to that should have them in hand. So the meteoric rise should be limited. Again if you aren't adjusting your for sale prices hourly, you're losing money. It surely isn't $1000s at a time though.

If you're pre-selling on eBay and decide to retract/cancel sales, that's eBay account suicide IF Topps On-line sales are your specialty.

Its not even 20.... if you're in your 30s its more like 40 years.

So lets say you have the 500k parked in a good dividend paying stock.... youre getting 25k a year to spend, unless you touch the principal. And that's before any taxes.

Wait until Cartoon gets his crack at Trout, Griffey, Thomas, Jeter, etc...and then add in PR's soaring. The current prices on his Brett and others will look like peanuts.
