Update: I backed off the offer of $22,500 for the set of 1-80 to the local trader today and countered at $29,500 and he agreed. Cash. Will be getting in touch with my financial consultant Tuesday to discuss retirement possibilities. It is definitely in the cards now with 3 sets sold and 2 more stashed away. Plus one baller Ichiro from the MoneyBear trade that keeps going up in value daily.

You’re right. I’m choosing my integrity over 10s, maybe 100s ks worth of cards coming in.

And it will stay that way if there $1,000,000 worth of cards coming in.

What’s your point here? It sounds like you’re salty because you don’t have the bank roll to purchase multiple 10 packs each day.......

It's called integrity. Nothing should be valued higher to you.

That post says a lot about the type of person you are.

Exactly and you really dont understand what it truly costs most folks to retire.

I have never once reneged on selling a card. Or done what a bunch of these guys do and say I "lost" the card. Or they get the package back from the postage service before its delivered because the value went up. This would never happen to me because I would never presell anything. So I wouldn't be in the situation of deciding if my reputation on ebay or blowout was worth losing retirement money. Again we are not talking a few hundred, few thousand. This is RETIREMENT MONEY.

Just look at McGwire. He didn’t have integrity. Where is he now?

Most people that don't live in a rich area or need health insurance from an underlying medical condition 35 or older could retire with $500k-$1 million. Especially with stocks and card investments. If you have the money you should be making more money.

What’s the shipping lag for these right now? Is Topps typically 1, 2, 3 weeks behind?

So many local traders in your area. It is truly mind boggling. Your car should be filled to the top with all of these cash deals you are doing locally. I hope your magical sales are being reported to the magical IRS man. Or do they only care about real transactions?

Weeks? You mean months? You won't see anything being bought today for a VERY long time.

Pretty sure the Baller Trout made them run out of One Touches.

I bet they had no idea this would get this popular

Also all these presellers could be using the funds they got to buy up the rarer cards and flip those later.

Simply depends on your moral compass. A couple hundred bucks isn't gonna send me off to retirement and if I'm still selling without price adjustments that's my fault.

The factor you aren't applying is Topps shipping. I just got my Baller Trout tracking a few days ago. I dont think anything that still pending is retirement money good.

If you're an eBay seller and dont honor your pre-sells,sales will drop immensely once that first negative hits.

I have the bank roll and had I thought there was any chance these would be worth 25% of this I'd have been buying 10 packs of every card. Unfortunately for me the first card I bought was the Jeter Saladeen that for weeks was one of the cheapest cards in the Project. Then the second one I bought was the Ben Baller Trout that was the highest print run in the set. I almost bought the first Griffey and didn't. Had I bought the first Griffey I would have been looking at prices every day and with how much the Griffey went up I would have probably bought 10 packs of at least 40 cards as opposed to the 15 cards I have bought. But I guess some is better than none.

I respect your opinion but even a single person 35 and over could spend all their annual interest from their $500K windfall on just medical insurance. People sometimes lose money in the stock market and sure wouldn't want to retire personally counting on selling cards but thats me.

You can retire on 250k?
