Yeah the comparison of Tatum to Kobe is just so dumb. Just because JT idolizes Kobe doesn’t mean they are in the same league, or ever will be.

LBJ in his first Finals vs Spurs was a thing of ugly, he overcame. A guard by the name of Curry struggled in a series loss and had missed 13 3pt FGA in one game but he clearly overcame. Tatum will overcome.

His #teamlightskin perm will never rival Papi Chulo's.

I don't even know why he tries.

Laughable at this point.

I watched all the games and I saw a player that looked scared or at least reluctant to go the basket and every time the ball was in his hands in important situations he settled for a 15 foot jumper that he was hitting 20-30% of the time or he kicked it out for Smart to brick a 3. And on the other side of the ball you had Wiggins who continually was going to basket and getting hammered by Time Lord and Horford and he kept doing it even though he wasn't getting calls half the time.
Best player on team in Championship, responsible for 45% of teams points throughout the postseason, that won 2 games and was close in others, with a historic lack of bench help, cannot be best player on championship team? If you've watched Tatum the past 5 years, you know this series was incredibly atypical and possibly due to significant injury. I'll bet on the kid who's improved every year and had similar numbers to LeBron in his first Finals. The narrative won't change until it does, which is fine.

And lets certainly stop talking about him and Kobe.

His FG % was .367 just like the great Kobe in his finals at the exact .367

So they had to turn into 2 point specifically because Kobe shot like .200 from 3's but he's still your hero after multiple under 40% finals.

Very similar.
Both terrible in the finals.

Just Kobe had shaq and gasol to save him.

At 23 Tatum is better than Kobe in every stat at 23.

1st five years in the league Tatum destroys him in everything.

What happens later that's unwritten

Kobe finals.

0.367
0.415
0.514
0.381
0.405
0.430
0.405

Total all finals 0.412

Just terrible...how did they ever win anything with Kobe throwing every final but one.

One of the most overrated players of all time.

I was just relaying what was reported on SportsCenter. Here’s an article that gives greater detail:

Have a good one.

NBA was different then and Kobe at the time was joining a veteran team that was ready to win now, remember he was behind Jones for a bit.

He'll be fine, but this Finals was disappointing.

His legacy is better than people think already. Three ECFs and one NBA Finals before 25 is no joke.

This is a silly stat. There are some players that never even make it to the Conference Finals, let alone the Finals. I'm sure many players wouldn't mind a stat like this as it shows they played a lot of games in the playoffs.

Just need Harden to make the finals. Or Westbrook.

Why don't you compare the playoff stats?

Tatum needs to get on PEDs, bulk up and develop a post game like Lebron did

Jayson Tatum basketball IQ has always been my question. He has plenty of talent and clearly one of the better players in the NBA, but I see more mental flaws then physical. His Court sense ranks very low in my eyes. Tatum get switched to Curry defending him and passes out, Then the next three plays he takes fadeaway shots on 2 defenders with teammates wide open. His best game in the finals Game 1 he passed the entire game.... My NBA comparison Lazier version of Tracy McGrady. But Ill leave the door open at age 24..... Maybe he gets smarter

you tell us, how did they ever win anything? If it's by Kobe being bailed out by other players, how specifically did that occur?

Not a silly stat at all, lots of players have played the same minutes in the playoffs with nowhere near that number of turnovers. No player would want to hold that record lol. But if you don’t like that stat, how about the fact that Tatum’s 4th quarter scoring shrunk to less than half in the Finals.
