I know you say that in jest, but vending boxes are probably the easiest thing to verify even though they are the least secure type of packaging.

There’s nothing wrong with a Wax Specialty Store, that also offers Wax Certification for customers boxes …. they REALLY know Wax!

I hope so. They are probably better than mattingly rookies. And I get where you're coming from.
I feel the same way about autographs which
Is why i don't own any.

VERY nice Jason! Love me some mid-eighties Topps Wax! A lot of the boxes from the period, BBCE wrapped or not, are in fairly rough shape. This one (FASC -rare! ) is exceptionally sweet condition wise ( obviously from the SC )

Oh man. That's one of my favorite releases. I opened a rackpack box a couple years ago back. That was before I knew how easy it is to manipulate a box of packs to take all the best players out.

Here's another 1984 item. Took me a while
To find it in decent condition. I didn't want one that had price stickers on the packs or writing on the box.

Very nice! Like you said jmsodpc, really tough to locate clean, case fresh looking boxes

End of the year topps used to bundle wax packs
To help clear them out. One method was the wax tray.
These were packaged 3 packs to a tray all
Wrapped in a fragile cellophane wrapper.
Overall these are cool items and super tough
To tamper with since the outer wrapper is so fragile.
It's this fragility that has kept me away from owning them through the years. I don't like having an item that
Could crumble so easily and tear at the corners from movement. That being said....I have a 1980 topps wax tray...seems in decent condition without price
Stickers or tears. The seller was motivated and
I took a buy.

Very very nice. I’m hoping to at least pick up a nice graded wax pack of that year. My birth year!

1962 topps. Not super rare with psa grading
Over 100 cello packs...but
..this is the only one with a series 5/6 notation.
And a bonus has Hank Aaron stamp showing!

Picked up these two sealed packs the other day for $11. Not really sure they count as a financial investment, but more of an investment in nostalgia.

These packs are nostalgic and cool

As for ‘Investment’ consideration - I wish I could go back and take that out of this Threads Title, and just called it a Wax Appreciation Thread ~~~ but I can’t

Advice from the group, please. I’m sitting on 30 boxes of 2022 Chrome Baseball Lite, purchased at MSRP for $99ea + t/s.

The MVP buyback program ends in 8 days. I was hoping Topps would extend the date.

Yes, these boxes already include the SSP’s of Julio, Tork, etc,…but are hard to pull. These boxes aren’t known to have QC issues.

So, would you?

1. Rip all 30 boxes - grade the best stuff, and rapidly send in the Judge/Goldschmidt cards for future credit.

2. Hold these until prices rise, someday, possibly. This is the flagship release for Wander Franco, O’Neil Cruz.

3. Trade them away at $80 per box and just eat it.

4. Other?

I don’t need any Richard-head comments or replies, so if that is your m.o., just scroll by.

Sell/trade them away.

You won't see much appreciation from these and you're missing out on a lot of other opportunities by having funds tied up with these boxes.

And, as you already understand, demand for such wax will lessen once the buyback program ends.

I appreciate that, thank you. I don’t disagree at all.
