Amazing mixtape of his days in Orlando:
Penny Hardaway Career Mix

MJ - G. O. A. T. Simply the best player to ever play the game. Nothing else needs to be said.

Shawn Kemp - Best in game dunker of all time IMO (with LeBron and VC tied for a very close second). Dude was just an absolute monster. In his prime, he probably had the quickest first step for a guy of his size and he was an excellent pass lane reader and shot blocker. Truth be told; Kemp dunks on you and you seriously reconsider your career as a basketball player.
Penny, MJ, Kemp, man...those guys were the 90s KINGS in my opinion. Every one was after their shoes and cards, those were the days.

Kemp is my favorite and instead of typing why, I think I'll let some animated .GIF files do the talking for me:

Marcus Camby: First ever insert card I got from a pack of basketball cards way back in 1996 was a 96/97 Fleer Camby Towers of Power card. Drafted second behind Iverson I thought I´ll stick with him and I do till today. Now have around 1300 Camby cards including almost 100 "real" 1/1 cards.

Ron Mercer, don´t know why but I think I have an impressive collection as well, missing "only" 113 of the 738 cards listed by beckett

Xavier Mcdaniel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aiHxIdkjA5U .....nuff said!!

Eduardo Najera, Sundiata Gaines, Devin Brown....no clue but got lots of their cards

Andre Drummond: Loved his game since his first game for the pistons, his stuff was dirt cheap most of his rookie year and he looks primed to explode this year after we lost Monroe.

2003-08 Pistons: Mainly Billups, Rip, Prince, Sheed and Big Ben. The block is my first vivid memory watching basketball, and those guys were a joy to watch back really until Chauncey got traded. I don't pick up too much of them any more but I do like getting chrome refractors and nice inserts here and there

Ryan Anderson. Started collecting him because I was a freshman in high school and he was a senior. Remember going to watch him and Oak Ridge Win the state title at arco arena. Hometown kid seemed like a good reason to collect him when I got back into cards.

MJ simply because he's the GOAT
Stephen Curry because of the way he can handle and shoot the ball off the dribble is mesmerizing
Stanley Johnson, been a big fan ever since he played AAU basketball with the Oakland Soldiers, which is near where I live.

1992 Dream Team: I was in high school during the 1992 Olympics and watching the Dream Team run over the best players in the world was amazing to me. I was already a basketball fan and had bought packs of cards every now and then, but the Dream Team really got me excited about buying packs of cards. I used to dream about the day when I could have all of their RCs, so now I'm trying to collect all of their RCs in gem mint condition.

Derrick Rose: I moved to Chicago during his rookie year and immediately got hooked on his game and his life story...a kid from the southside of Chicago coming back to carry his hometown team on his shoulders. This city is all about Derrick Rose and, when he had the knee injuries, it was like someone that I knew had gotten hurt. When I started back with collecting last year, I couldn't help but start a PC of his RCs

Yeah Shawn Kemp had some nasty hops back in the day. His dunks remind me of Vince Carter. Too bad he never got a ring

No doubt. The Kamikaze II and Penny II are probably my all-time favorite basketball shoes. Got a pair of the Penny 2s right when they came out. Nostalgia...

Jeff Hornacek. I've been a Jazz fan since I was a teenager. I also collect Stockton and Malone, but decided to focus on Hornacek because his autos are much more affordable.

I pc Magic Johnson because I grew up watching him in L.A., John Henson because I like his game, Oscar Robertson and Derrick Williams of the Knicks. I liked him on the wolves but he did not work out. His cards are cheap so I can pick up good cards for not a lot of money.

Any and all Kansas Jayhawks to make it to the league. Among that group my favorites are Wiggins, Brandon Rush and Darrell Arthur. It makes for a fun collecting journey because there is always something to chase from rookies to 90s to vintage.

I also love digging in dime and quarter boxes for beautiful 90s and 00s cards. I passively PC a lot of players I loved as a teen: Michael Finley, Raptors-era VC, the Admiral.

Al Horford -

Was impressed with him during the Gators' 2 title runs. Was a huge basketball fan as a kid and lost interest during middle/high school but randomly watched the first year run and got hooked to bball again since then.

Didn't start PCing him until that Playoffs series against the Celtics when he boasted to a down Paul Pierce. Just love his hustle as an all around big man.

Alec Burks -

Love how he attacks the rim. Very exciting player to me. Was a cheap PC to start too .

My biggest PC is Antoine Walker. I started collecting him in 2005. I had always liked his well-rounded skill set, and Tracy McGrady (my favorite player then) was too expensive to collect at the time. Almost at 1,000 different now.

I collect Adam Morrison because we have the same disease (type 1 diabetes). Of course, I had hopes he would do well in the league, too, but we all know how that worked out. Yikes.

I started collecting Acie Law back in 2007 because I thought he would be good as well...oops. I had built up a decent PC by the time he disappeared from the league, though, so I've kept it up anyway.

I also collect Anthony Tolliver because he's from nearby Springfield, MO, and helped my area (Joplin) when it went through the horrible tornado in 2011. For some reason, he has only a couple handfuls of cards despite being in the league for awhile now.

Great stories guys! Keep em coming. I remember when Russel Westbrook gave a single mom in his community the SUV He won from his all-star MVP award.

I thought that was very generous that he did that and then he went on the triple double streak last year. That prompted me to snag a few of his Rc's and jersey cards

I have collected Tim Duncan since he was a rookie. But until 2007 I just got cards from packs I bought here in Germany or during my vacations when I was in the US, which was in avarage all 4 years. So I just had about 30 cards until that point of time. It was the time before boards on the internet and ebay. So my best card was a jersey card from sweet shot 03/04 which I pulled by myself.

I have been a Spurs Fan since I was interested in Basketball in 1994. During that time I was 10 years old and I liked David Robinson. Beside him I also liked Shawn Kemp. When my aunt was on holidays in the US in '94, she bought a jersey for me which was of Robinson. So that was the moment, when the Spurs became my favorite team. I tried to get as many information about the spurs as possible via a weekly nba show on the german tv and some basketball mags. That was all.
In 1997 I had read a lot about Tim Duncan before he was drafted by the Spurs. I have always liked Big Men basketball and Timmy seemed to be the next big thing. Beside his abilities as a basketball player, I liked his way of life. He was so different to players like Kobe, Iverson or Shaq. He was no gangster or a wannabe movie star. He seemed to be a guy who was just focused on basketball. I liked that. And he played very well during his first season. The best future big man on my favorite team? Perfect.
During the first years of collecting till 2007, I collected everything of him I could get. Jerseys (The first one I got here in Germany in a footlocker store) and all of his articles from newspapers.
I have collected his cards for over 18 years and I will go on. He has become the best Power Forwad ever and in my mind, he is a top 5 player ever. He dominated games, the nba finals and in contrast to other superstars he was able to step aside to make room for a new generation to stay succesfull as a team and as a player. That is so special. And still today, he can dominate a game ( but no season or a 7 game series anymore, but no big deal).

Pete Maravich - A few years ago I wanted to pick up a vintage card or 2 but I wasn't too familiar with many of the players from the 50's, 60's, and 70's so I started looking at videos of some of the older 50 greatest. There was Wilt, Kareem, Cousy, and Russell, but when I saw a Youtube mix on Pistol Pete I was immediately attracted to his game, and as I learned more I was intrigued by his story. He was programmed since birth by his dad to play the game, became NCAAs all-time leading scorer, had a somewhat turbulent NBA career, struggled with personal demons, and died at a early age by a condition that should have shortened his life much quicker than it did. He was ahead of his time!

Tim Duncan

- I pulled a TD Press Pass Game Used Card from Double Threat #d 400 in 1997.

- Read articles and had this foresight that Duncan might just be primed for greatness. Took the gamble and decided to collect him, which prompted me to trade my small Antoine Walker Pc for some of his stuff.

- But I regret that I did not have enough moolah then to get his serially numbered RC's and 90's stuff. Because right now, the demand is so high making prices reach the heavens. So, I still can't afford them as having a family and an outspoken wife are the priorities. Haha. It also doesn't help that I have a goal of quantity and quality for my PC, making me quite unhappy when I see single cards finish above $300 on auctions.

- Re-thinking right now, if I should just forego quantity to get his better stuff. Ha! The pitfalls of PC'ing a player who played top notch and consistent basketball that spanned almost 3 decades.
