I sent in a bulk order shipment that was received by PSA on 3/26, and it has yet to be entered into the system. There is no acknowledgement of any kind that they have received it.

I sent in another shipment that I put in the mail last Friday, and they have confirmed receipt and the orders are already showing in the system.

Should I be concerned about that first shipment, or has the second one just been handled incredibly fast?

He probably didn't respond because sadly, I heard he got injured at work the other day. There's even video of his workplace injury:

Poor guy. Hope he recovers soon.

I have a value order from the 24th that was packaged with a higher tier and it blew through everything to assembly and has sat there for like 6 weeks. Makes no sense.

If they actually ran out of slabs or were running extremely low, I think that would show up in the GemRate stats: they showed 2.21M graded in April (+2 MOM), the new all-time monthly high.

You would imagine in an 'about to run out' scenario, they would only be slabbing the higher-tier service levels and throttling assembly in order to bridge the time until the next expected delivery.

I guess it's still technically possible they're supply constrained, but they just did the most volume in a single month ever, so it's hard to think it's a major shortage if that is the case.

Or they ran out because they graded 2.21 million cards in a month…

I now have 5 bulk orders at assembly. The dates received range Dec 9th to March 9th. I feel like they moved through the early steps fairly quickly and then hit the current log jam that is Assembly. Is it possible this is due to the war issues and Asia not getting enough oil to produce products like plastic cases for cardboard with pictures of men and cartoon characters on them ?

Since they've never slowed down, even in the last week, it's more likely a labor issue. They use experienced graders after assembly as a final check on condition and the label. SGC did the same per Peter Steinberg. They probably know how many cards those guys can handle in qa 1 or 2, and keep the number of slabs they seal in line with that. Otherwise, you're just moving the log jam from assembly to qa. I doubt the sealer dudes in assembly are following any strict order, which is why some stuff sits there forever and others don't.

Also, they source their slabs locally per earlier comments in this thread.

Looks to me like tcg is still roughly the same percentage of their recent output even though they increased its grading fee the most (since it used to be a few dollars lower). There's undoubtedly a price point that would slow down that crowd until they can increase capacity, but PSA hasn't found it. It doesn't look like sports card submissions ever really got out of control, at least judging by their output/pop reports.

Maybe they should offer to pay people more money if they're having labor issues.

My bulk order with scheduled due date May 14 has made it out of Assembly and into QA checks! It lives!

Question.

If I decide to send a Superfractor but just want to get it Authenticated, will PSA still do an upcharge?

Yes, assuming they deem it worth more than whatever your declared value is.

PSA is using AI to respond to requests. Making one might be a waste of time...

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to PSA Customer Care, my name is Grady PSA's AI Agent and I'd be happy to assist you.

Your submission is not likely misplaced. Orders can stay in the Assembly phase for several weeks, and that is normal. Orders do not get lost in Assembly, and if there are no notes or action items on the order, it is still actively progressing through the workflow.

Also, estimated turnaround times are not guarantees, and orders that exceed the estimate are prioritized to finish as soon as possible.

To confirm where Submission #139XXXXX is right now, please check your status in your account under My Orders (and use Find My Package if needed). To see the Find My Package link, you may need to click the More options menu (three vertical dots) in the upper right of the page.

2 orders in a row now where I have packaged an express order with a value bulk order, and they have scanned in the express to research and ID the next day, but they are not scanning the bulk sub in the same package. 4 weeks later, and bulk sub still not in research. Maybe they finally caught on?

Very dangerous. They opened the box. Pulled out the value one. Closed the box and put it back on shelf. Lost cards will happen that way.
