Odds for fantastic autos is 1:59. Odds for sketches are 1:59. So sketches will be more common than fantastic autos. Odds for comic artist autos are 1:39. Odds for relic comic inserts are 1:2,000 lol.

Edit: Oh, I thought this was an art set. Looks like it's a combo MCU/art set, so I guess the MCU autos are the big hits and sketches are the secondary hits. Comic artist autos would be tier 3 and relics would be tier 4, except the rarity of comic cuts should bump them up to tier 3. I was thinking of the Finest brand back in the 90s when it was a quality, all original art set full of paintings. Does Topps have a brand for original art sets? The Masterpieces name belongs to Upper Deck, right? It feels like all Topps Marvel sets are interchangeable regardless of the Finest, Chrome, etc. label. I do think these will possibly have a refractor border and if they are all /10 black ref /5 red ref /1 superfractor they will sell incredibly well regardless of the cut used |

Topps has yet to do something like this with Marvel. Currently it's all clip art and chromifying everything using the "Topps Chrome" name to carry everything. Very uninspiring stuff. |

Topps Originals insert set: TO-01 Doctor Doom (Adi Granov) TO-02 Galactus (Adi Granov) TO-03 Mister Fantastic (E.M. Gist) TO-04 Human Torch (E.M. Gist) TO-05 The Thing (Nelson) TO-06 Invisible Woman (Nelson) TO-07 Spider-Man (Ben Bradi) TO-08 She-Hulk (Ben Bradi) TO-09 Silver Surfer (Myles Wohl) TO-10 Thanos (Myles Wohl) I’m not a fan of Topps marvel sets- the generic sets and Fanatics/breaking/sports vibe behind it all. I havent bought anything from Topps to this point in marvel. I admit I do like the retro Finest design used in this one- maybe as a variation of the base, checklist is confusing. But it looks like 1996 Finest baseball/basketball and thats nostalgic for me, was big into those 90s Finest sets. So the design is cool at least in some of this, but design only carries things so far and I don’t think it’s enough that I’ll go out and buy Topps marvel.

I've got the pair of 1970's sticker sets, the 1979 Incredible Hulk TV series set, plus 2001 Marvel Legends, the 2003 Incredible Hulk comic art set, and some of the original Spider-Man and X-Men movie cards from around the same time.
That's good enough for me where Topps and Marvel are concerned. None of the Finest (etc.) designs hit the "nostalgia feels" for me since Topps wasn't a manufacturer of Marvel cards when those were introduced.

How is one more common at the same odds?

What I don't understand about Topps and Upper Deck's use of published comic art, is they use a lot of interior panels and not even good scans in some cases. All the recent Marvel original art should exist in digital form, both black & white inked pages and digitally colored completed art. Why they use so much interior art when comic covers are more suited to cards, I'll never understand. If it's not a rights issue, I'm not sure what they're thinking. I could put together 20 different Marvel sets using just cover art from the last 10 years and never reuse a single image. And trading card fans would flip for the art. It's pretty easy when there are 5 variant covers for every Marvel comic that comes out each month (sometimes even 10 or 15). There's so much great art that is never seen again beyond being variant cover J of some X-men book. I really wonder if any comic book fans have ever worked at any of these companies.

I'm surprised noone has run the odds on this product yet. Since I was able to order 8 boxes (and hope Topps sends me a sealed case), I wanted to see what to expect. If I calculated things correctly, here's what I come up with:
Hits per case: 2.87 actor autos 1.51 sketch cards 0.06 relic cards 3.68 artist autos Surprisingly, almost all of the big names show up in the parallel autos. For finest autos, all 13 signers have orange, black, red, and superfractor autos; 12 of the 13 have purple and gold autos; and 9 of the 13 have green autos. For science autos, all 12 signers have orange, black, red, and superfractor autos. For the dual autos, all 6 duals have black, red, and superfractor autos. 5 of the 6 duals have gold and orange autos. |

Really looking forward to this release, feels sneaky good rn but obviously we'll have to see how it breaks Liking where its dropping on the calendar at two weeks after Deadpool chrome, gives enough time and fits in nicely behind it from a consumer/dealer standpoint Absolutely love the box art and many of the images shown thus far, its gonna be a banger to open! |

I also think this set looks good. And hopefully leads to more original art sets from Topps in the future (even if only a small subset and not a full set).

We all know who Pedro Pascal is, but that doesn't mean he has high demand for his Reed Richards sticker auto cards. Venessa Kirby is a fine actress, but I wouldn't call her a big name. |

What the… Deadpool went missing from the Topps site and now fantastic four. Two sets I’m really excited about and miraculously actually won an EQL for in the case of Deadpool. Hope it’s just a delay and not something worse.

A bigger name would be worth more? Are you saying since he’s not the Ohtani of non sport that he’s not worth it?

The Ohtani of non-sport wouldn't be Jackman or Reynolds -- I think they're more comparable to Aaron Judge. Ohtani has been supernova hot recently -- his market has been extremely speculative -- and I can't think of a comparison in the non-sport cards world. |
