So if I understand this right the preorder boxes seem to have all the 1/1 in them. The release day boxes have all the /50 golden hour....
But people are upset they are getting too many 1/1s and not enough /50s?

Yes, because I didn’t hit a 1/1 and didn’t even have a chance at hitting a golden hour which is the highlight of the product for me.

There may be a way to differentiate. MAYBE. During the production Topps switched out the cellophane. Some boxes have dark blue topps Ink - Almost black. Others are vibrant blue. There’s no in between so I know it wasn’t a running change of a single cellophane lot - it’s two totally different lots of material. What I don’t know is if the black ink means later collation - or early. If it happened later then we can ensure dark ink means Golden Hours and on card autos. If the black ink is early…then it means nothing. What I can say is that I’ve seen zero Golden Hours come out of the vibrant blue packaging…so I’m leaning that dark blue is tail end production/colation.

I noticed this because there’s a listing on eBay for three boxes. In the pic one has vibrant blue and the others are definitely dark. Then I started looking at listings and the trend.

I bought a bunch of boxes - including a couple dark ink - to try and see if I can figure this out. Man, what being off from work for a couple weeks does to a man! Lmao.

Congrats on the Judge. Did you only get 3 autos? Or was the 4th not worth mentioning? Really disappointing about the lower QC. IMO, that was the most significant driver of last year's value.

It's a good offer, Bosox, and I should. I'm just throwing mine on the shelf and forgetting about them for a few months. Prices on wax are too crazy right now. Everything seems to go up daily.

I bought that. Seller confirmed, and provided proof, it's a release day case. And confirmed the shipment would not be opened before sending it to me.

The other cases up are not release day cases.

If all the GH and on card autos are essentially sandwiched into half (at most) of the product then I am willing to gamble (and that's what it is, a gamble).

I'd rather pay $6k for a release day case than $4.5k for a pre-order case.
