I've sold hundreds of unopened boxes to Dave and Adams and SCC (none to blowout)
My tips: If you are not in a hurry and don't need the money. Track what the boxes go for on ebay. then, see what the big three will offer. If the difference is not significant, then go with the big three. However, if the difference is significant you might want to consider an auction house like BBCE, or a major consigner. If you need the money quickly, sell to the big three. It's fast and easy, send them your list and accept the best offer. but you WILL get less money than you would by selling them individually. You have some VERY nice boxes that would sell for big $$$. Upper Deck boxes from 2003-2009 have the potential for the big three auto's: Lebron/Kobe/Jordan. These boxes are getting rare and VERY expensive. I'm holding all my UD boxes from those years. Last edited by blackbears86; 12-03-2025 at 08:52 PM. |

A lot of these boxes are low value, but a few have real value,my advice take a weekend and buy a table at the largest show close to you, take cash only.avoid the 1099 problem and at a well trafficked show you should sell most of that on a fri/sat/sun show.

Buying/selling wax on BO isn't allowed.

I would contact a larger store like BO and see what they’ll Give you for all of the wax. The 03-04- topps basketball factory set is being bought by Dave and Adam For $300 now. Your profiles says you are in jersey. I suspect all three of them will come to you if you ask. |

I can't speak to BO or SCC, but if you live as close as New Jersey I believe DACW will come to you if you have $25k worth of sealed. You agree on the price beforehand, and they send guys with a big van and they confirm all is there, load it, and give you a check.

Thank you everyone for these tips! Very helpful. I am in the process of doing comps on all of the wax via recent sales I can find on eBay/elsewhere and populating the sheet accordingly. Doing my best to answer all inbounds as the intent is to liquidate, but want to be sure I am confident in my method and efficient.
If anyone has good websites to bookmark in terms of tracking trends, price graphs, population counts, auction history, etc. Anything fair game. I am making a list of all useful websites for the hobby to be most educated and equipped. This is way more fun than my 9-5 |

What's most important to you: maximizing return or liquidating fast (and obviously, giving up some margin)? I've done both but I generally prefer the maximizing margin route. It requires some time commitment as you'll have to take pictures of your products (in some occasions, coined) and list them (including quantity/price desired) across various platforms (emails, FB/IG/reddit/discord, etc). You'll mostly move 1 box at a time (on occasions, a few) but you'll net the most this way. It's pretty feasible to move 150 boxes even with a busy work/life schedule as you'll just have to copy/paste the same message (slightly tailoring as needed) and occasionally bump and/or reposting new threads/sending new emails, etc. Any boxes that have very limited supply on eBay can do quite well (you only need 1 buyer, remember that, no rush to sell early/fast). |
