We're in a world where the tag matters more than the actual card for 95% of the people buying and selling. Most people won't give it a second thought. It's sad, but it's the reality of the hobby these days. Imagine buying cards that go straight to someone else's vault instead of getting to hold it in your hand.

Some SP love. Finally got the 2021 signing autos SSP. I think I might be satisfied with where I'm at with the Shohei collection. I'm not doing Golden Mirrors, RC auto is out of my price range. My gold run is a given but I'm a low end guy so not spending thousands on 1 card unfortunately. Happy with the progress. Family pics.

Maaan NY, your binder collection is sweet. I don't care if your low, mid or high end....who cares, as long as it makes you happy. I work hard, take care of my kids, pay my bills and cards are my happy place. All my cards are sunk costs, it makes me happy and that's priceless.

Well, I decided to part with my PSA 10 TC pink refractor #150. I'm a pretty big fan of Steph Curry, and have wanted to add an on-card auto of his to my PC. Ended up pulling a deal on Veriswap for a raw '22 NT Curry auto #'d to /99 in exchange for my Ohtani. If the Curry can grade a PSA 9 (or even BGS 9), that puts the card safely in the $2k range then. Raw it's right around $1.8-2k.

Prices on the pink refractor are just so whack (last 2 sales $1.1k then that crazy $3.7k on Heritage), so I settled on a $2k value and decided to cash it in. The Ohtani cost me $450 to pick up at the time. Still on the hunt for an on-card rookie auto though!

The only thing he said definitively is that he wouldn't touch the card. Then when asked why, he explained why. Of course there's no 100% proof of anything. But a high end collector is allowed to publicly state that he wouldn't buy a card.

Trueblue, I am 100% in your corner! Your observation was that the auto does not look like the normal Topps chrome auto. As far as I know you don't work at PSA, BSA, JSA etc. But on here you are the most expert person on Ohtani cards/autographs.

I know your intentions were merely to point out there is something off on the autograph and then you gave your opinion. Boxbuster's response to me seemed over the top. You gave your opinion. What evidence are you suppose to show him. Its not like you own the secret recording of Ohtani doing all the topps chrome autographs. Nobody has concrete evidence of what happened to this card/autograph. You were just trying to give your opinion. If Boxbuster did not like your opinion he didn't have to respond to the post.
