3-4 mid endpurchases from people with nothing but vintage for sale, a few ppl here asking me where to start because they want to collect but only know vintage, and finally, IG where primary vintage guys are asking what to look for.

Would love to follow you if your IG is public. Same with any others here that have public-facing IGs and want to share their handles. Until recently I’ve not been active in Instagram, but it seems like there are a lot of great cards and people there.

He probably had one of the greatest, if not THE greatest game ever in the post-season last night, he's headed to another world series and will likely win his fourth MVP award soon.


If there was any doubt, he pretty much erased it this year. He's bringing in the non baseball collector's who want his cards.

I remember Roberts was asked by someone in the press—last spring, I think—if Ohtani would ever hit a ball out of Dodger stadium. Can’t find the source, only this graphic. But the second home run last night had me thinking of this.

1st off what Ohtani is doing is amazing and we never seen anything like this. But when he retires would he be considered the Goat. If his career numbers are not there because he played in Japan for the first couple years?

He debuted stateside at age 23. He's not closer to 27 like Ichiro was in 2001.

His counting stats and WAR are superior to 97% of active players. He's averaging right under 7 bWAR a year between undergoing two TJ surgeries and a COVID shortened year. He also played six of those years as an Angel with pretty much zero supporting cast after his rookie year. And that's before you account for the TWP thing.

The answer to your question is "No," barring a Mike Trout-like drop off as he gets deeper into his 30s. That's however unlikely, as he is a sleep and recovery fanatic that tracks everything he does and puts into his body. Indication is that he's going to age closer to Ichiro than Trout, which allows him to produce positively through the entirety of his contact.

I can concur with this. I have had several conversations with my vintage only collector friends who are interested in one or two nice Ohtani cards, in the low five figure range. He definitely is getting notice from the full spectrum of baseball collectors.
