Not only have products been spaced too far apart, the hype and pump between products that fanatics has been enjoying for the past several years is gone.
Multiple reasons for this:

- lack of pre-release marketing.....hard to get excited about a product when you have no idea what the cards are going to look like, no idea who is going to be on the checklist, and no idea when it's going to be released.

- the over-pricing of wax....when you know that 90% of products are going to be overpriced to the point that it would be idiotic for you to buy a box or two, it's hard to get excited about them.

- too many tired brands featuring look-alike cards

Thankfully, I still have lots of collecting projects from the last 25 years to keep me engaged.....

I think Ginter is supposed to come out in September, should be cool since it is the 20th Anniversary but haven't heard a peep about it.

Breakers hate ginter - it leaves plenty for hobbyists at a reasonable price, which is always a good thing.

It's almost like people have forgotten that retail always used to sit on the shelves. What's the difference now? Does anyone really think Topps is sweating because there are Series 2 blasters still available at Target?

I think it's pretty noteworthy that retail has fallen out of favor. Consumers just don't see the value in it anymore -- prices are too high for what you get. Consumers are cutting the fat out of their spending and becoming more value conscious.

The mass-produced products like flagship and TC rely on retail outlets as part of their distribution and sales models. Everything can't be sold through breakers or LCSs. This will have a significant effect on Fanatics' revenue going forward, as it means the market for trading cards is shrinking. Everything is concentrating around group breaking, which is just another form of online gambling.

Loosely translated:

Box flipper bois can no longer make a buck on them.

Fanatics has succeeded.

Topps chrome sapphire goes on EQL on Wednesday. It’s already been released for Montgomery Club. We should probably get shipping notifications tomorrow.

This stuff goes in cycles. It’ll eventually get back to that point after the next big recession. It’s how it always goes.

Pre-covid we used to have a great schedule.

Series 1, heritage, gypsy queen in spring.
Series 2, finest, stadium club in June.
Pro debut, archives, ginter, Topps chrome in july/August.
Heritage minors in September.
Update and heritage high in October.

All during the baseball months. Now it's all gone to pot.

Yes, 2025 rookie logo cards coming out in 2026 and 2027 has become a standard thing.

Degenerate gamblers don’t care.

I’m kinda more interested in what hasn’t been released - i.e. what has maybe been moved to “semi-annual”

All I know is I'm seeing topps chrome sit on retail shelves and I don't think I've ever seen that before, even in the pre-covid days.
