Default The season is winding down, what has Topps released?

It feels like Topps has released base Topps and many different variations of it (Chrome, Sapphire, Logo, All Star) and Bowman. Am I missing something that has also been reasonably popular?

It seems like a dud of a collecting season to me.

It hasn't been much different than other years. The "different" stuff often comes on the back half of the year. This year we have also already had Heritage, Finest, Tribute, Sterling, Dynamic Duals, and Archives. Popularity varies by personal choice as all of these have people that really like them and also really dislike them.

I guess if we include online exclusives, then Dynamic Duals would be accompanied by all Now stuff. And I didn’t realize Archives released. I saw Archives Signature, but not regular Archives.

I don’t mind the wait. Let’s get the ‘25 Update RC players into as many sets as possible.

Most AI photo generating sites allow 2 free pics a day. How many Update players are expected? The math should give us a release date.

2025 has definitely been kinda weak so far. Eight months in and I've opened more '24 HHN than anything else released this year combined.

I’m not totally sure what you’re saying here… I just want Nick Kurtz and Agustin Ramirez in as many sets as possible.

Does Topps actually pay for photos?

Not sure. But I do know that sometimes they don’t get enough. Look how many repeat photos poor Corbin Carroll has in his ‘23 cards.

Here is what Google says…

How Topps Acquires Photos
Licensing agreements:
Topps typically works with professional sports photographers and photo agencies, such as Getty Images or Alamy, to license images for their products.
Direct relationships:
Topps also has long-standing relationships with sports leagues and players, which would include access to player photos and images of their games.

No Archives yet. It's on my short list of products you can actually open without getting murdered so I'm patiently waiting for that one.

I used to love Archives....but now that it's run through just about every Topps design it's kinda run out of gas.

I really wish they'd do an Archives product using some of Topps non-baseball designs.....Topps dabbled in this with the Throwback Thursday products but never really developed it.

For example, I'd love to see baseball players in the 1954-55 Topps Hockey design, or the 1956 and 1957 Topps Football designs, or the 1971-72 Topps Hockey design, or the 1977 Star Wars design.

Dude, I have already lost hope now that 2024 Topps Chrome Platinum Anniversary will ever see the light of day. One of the few Topps product lines that I was most looking forward to. We can almost safely assume now that 2023 was the end of it.

guys, dont make the mistake of getting hung up on what the calendar says, they will release the products when they feel like it and people will buy it

It has definitely been a dud season.

Not only have products been spaced too far apart, the hype and pump between products that fanatics has been enjoying for the past several years is gone.

Most products have gone down in price since their release.

Box flipper bois have found it even tougher to make any significant money. Blasters are lingering on shelves while the pokemon gets cleaned out. The rookie class although fairly exciting has failed to ignite mass hoarding and the dollars are getting tighter for everyday expenses.

The formula is no longer working for fanatics, they really need something to jump start sales and are quickly realizing the hype boi hobby public is very fickle - killing your scarcity with too many parallels is coming to reality - the pandemic newbies are finally learning.

The pandemic enthusiasm is definitely coming to the end, and with football starting right around the corner, the forty products a year policy from MLB is finally biting itself in the rear - we have reached the point of saturation before half the products have been released. RIP 2025 baseball.

I too have primarily been purchasing 2024 baseball products to open when I get the itch - the home of Ohtani Dodger rookies and a much better rookie class, imo.

Not sure about hobby

But the last week I have been to

Target
Walmart
Farm fleet
Dicks

Has to be 500 plus retail boxes just sitting on shelves at those stores

It’s taken a long time for the card world to figure out how crappy retail is and how much bs new pricing is.

I hope fanatics chokes on there massive licensing fees

Yes, and those boxes have been 2024 select football, 2025 topps chrome, etc, not just the traditionally junkie hockey blasters.

There will be many discounted blasters available from 2025 baseball in the future.

Regular Archives hasn't been released yet for 2025. 2024 Archives released Jan. 8, 2025 so I imagine 2025 Archives will be first or second week of 2026.
