Chase a ring like prime Lakers Glove.

Or maybe Heat Glove.

Or Boston Glove.

I'm sure they are looking to build the best roster the year after that.
But again Nesmith is going to take it in his head that Indy needs to outperform this year as well.

Doesn't matter. He could have sit this season, rest Giannis more and get a top 10 pick. Then if there's a 20% chance he comes back at an All-Star level, they can contend.

The team as constructed has no upside, no flexibility and is not even a top 5 team. They spend a lot of money to have a worse team. This is the kind of move that triggers a trade request.

I kind of like Milwaukee taking a swing at the East this year. They'll have plenty of chances to cash out Giannis, and that Turner contract probably has some trade value too at some point. Why not.

Their thinking is probably that Turner could help develop young talent. Which he is really good at. When was the last time Bucks developed someone? Middleton? Holiday?

I think waiving the white flag this season was the correct move. But Boston also did that whilst maintaining the salary spots (Simons, Niang) to pivot next summer. Warriors don’t win the ‘22 title if they don’t get Dlo back for KD (to then pivot that salary into Wiggins). Losing Turner for nothing really complicates their team-building options.

Clearly ownership didn’t want to go into tax for the guy whose finals performance lost them their first ship. Understandable, but did Pacers FO know they’d lose him or did they look around the league, see no cap space, and feel they could strong-arm him without anticipating this Bucks insanity?

They just must have thought they’d at least get a sign and trade for a TPE (traded player exception) to use next summer. And not an unreasonable expectation given the cap space available around the league.

I mean, Myles could have come back and mentioned the offer and upped the ante. I think he really wanted to build a new lego set.

You know how Siakam wanted to play with Turner? I think Myles wants to play with Giannis.

The Pacers highest offer reportedly was 3/60, they were never getting to what Milwaukee paid.

Haha yeah, for an extra $47 million, I'm pretty sure Turner would even be willing to play with Ty Jerome!

If they hate the Bucks, they should be happy that the Bucks are making stupid moves.

From game 7 of the NBA Finals and they seem ok just letting the rope completely go.

This guy obviously doesn't watch the Pacers. I mean Tyrese only breaks his own thing. Some other guys be breaking chairs.

Yep, and they just got Kelce for him to back Joker up.

They are one wing away from being real contenders.

That’s a fan thing. The Bucks are dumb and we all know it

Windhorst said Indiana Pacer, and not fan, for a reason

Pacers are definitely worse

And if I was a player? I would be pissed

You lost Turner for nothing even if we all agree he’s overrated

Agreed. Very good trade for Denver.

Cavs/Knicks fans are probably happy. Relative to their competition in the East, they got better by doing nothing.

Good, that means the Pistons aren't going to resign him. He his making a full round of every team in the league.

I don't really want the Pistons to resign Beasley either even though he had a good season.

Buck stretching Lillard's salary seems like a good move. Than they dump a bunch of money to Turner. I like Turner, but I don't think he really moves the needle much for the Bucks. They must be eyeing another piece for this one to make sense.

I've been happy watching the Cavs do little to nothing this offseason.

It'll be nice if we can get a big to contribute on the vet minimum (think Al Horford). But overall we're not changing too much, but ever so slightly adjusting the team to help build around the only Super Max player on the roster, Evan Mobley.

In a 2nd apron world stretching Dame's money is an absolute disaster for Milwaukee. This is a lost season for them, so you could've had Dame on an expiring, maybe find a sucker (or a team wanting to get rid of their overpriced guy). To stretch his contract screams panic by Milwaukee.

The Bucks are not looking at these season as a lost season. They are going for it in a wide open East. Stretching the salary keeps them away from second apron (most likely). Yes, it is going to hurt in year 3 and 4 when Lillard's salary would be cleared, but they are trying to maximize Giannis prime years. This gives them flexibility to add more pieces.

We will have to agree to disagree. All this did was give them the ability to sign Myles Turner, nothing else. Does Giannis/Turner/Portis do anything for you? 1st round exit team still, 2nd round at best. Still have no picks. This is their team.

They won a title and traded everything trying to win another, there is no shame in that, but now they are in a LeBron James type team phase where they are destroying the franchise trying to win when it's obvious they won't.

Sadly yes. I'm just waiting for Giannis to ask out. I'd applaud him for riding it out with one franchise, but he has to see the writing on the wall.

Damage control for Giannis. Is he going to say "happy to see Dame gone"?

Of course the rubes on here will continue spinning things however they want. Doesn't matter what the Bucks do, they'd say Giannis should leave if the Bucks just got a cloned prime Jordan and spin it saying how the Bucks did Giannis dirty by getting a player that is better than him.
