There are a lot of things that PSA does that I don't agree with, but the BIGGEST thing they do that I disagree with is that they don't start the clock until your order hits Research & ID. You have my cards right now, the clock should start now. 65 business days will now turn into 75 to 90 business days. Either change things to accurately show how long you'll have my order, or actually stick to the date.
This is really annoying, but I'm equally annoyed at the pre-grading scans. All they add to the experience is a significant amount of processing time. Totally worthless otherwise. Customer service doesn't use them in resolving damage claims. WHAT IS THE POINT OF THESE SCANS?!?

Technically both, but it seems the majority go to NJ

They saved me from having to resubmit cards that they tagged wrong. Saw that a 2014 Prizm Pink variation was listed as a 2014 Prizm Green Yellow Neon variation and was able to alert them before they actually slabbed it wrong. Saved me some time, effort, and them some work having to reslab something, so not entirely worthless, at least to me.

If a submission goes past the est window, do I reach out?

You can. They don't really reply to requests for information unless it's past your estimated completion date.

I have heard from a source (believe it or not) that PSA has a back log of 145,000 cards. The employees have a white board in their office that shows the daily back log. They are receiving 20,000-30,000 cards per day.

I keep seeing people talk about two stages of assembly. On my current sub, it goes from grading to assembly to grades ready. I don't see two stages of assembly. My "assembly" does have a green check mark. Can anyone elaborate on the two stages?

Green checkmark on assembly only shows up on the website. Currently, that's where mine is, between assembly and grades available. The app itself still says it's in assembly.

All my pre-scan pics make my cards look scratched and dirty as heck. I use new material when I submit to PSA, it’s definitely not my plastic. These end up as PSA 10s so it’s defiantly not my clean plastic for those photos. But they say it’s my original sleeves? Odd.

Oh man, I’m glad to hear that! I just saw my before pictures and I couldn’t believe how terrible they looked. I freaked out. What a horrible system no point in scanning them if you’re not gonna make them clean in my opinion.

My last sub hit assembly the same day, but didn't get updated to the green check until over the weekend. Fingers crossed on getting the grades by tomorrow and that I get the same grader!!

Did PSA’s eBay consignment always have a 13% +$3 flat rate fee for anything less than $100? I thought it was 14%.

I believe they modified their fee structure within the past couple months.

Been stuck at research & ID for a while, though my order was pretty big. The good thing was dropping off my cards directly at CA during my easter vacation sped up the entry into the system. I don't think they'll make my estimated completion date at this rate though.

At first i was shocked by your numbers,

Then i checked Gemrate.com. They indicated PSA graded 71,000 cards yesterday (was 30k the day prior) - 150k backlog seems inconsequential if gemrate is accurate.

It stays they are grading 1.6mm cards every 30 days - WOW

New Canadian location is opening in September as per the CEO's response to my tweet yesterday.

I am certainly hearing people are soured by PSA these days but those numbers are incredible and provide real context
