Exactly this, for a new collector like me im being drowned in cards that I just end up buying what I think are cool cards, pulled the trigger on some project70 cards just because I think they look super unique

I think most people are here avoid project70 cards because they don't have a good track record of maintaining value. I will try to post some cards that I think you will like that are similar.

If you have to go to the dark side (unlicensed), I would stick with Upper Deck. They don't do the air brushed pajama cards and opt for nice suits and warm up gear while maintain the classy UD designs.


I think Flagship SSPs (700B, US1B, US1C) are sneaky good even though they have risen sharply in the last 6 months. ~200 range print run and condition sensitive with classic Topps pedigree. The ROI play is obviously licensed autos from the main sets.

What are the price ranges for an auto? Ive looked abit on Ebay but its kinda a bit all over the place with differented numbered etc, what would yoy recommend me to get with a 5k budget if I want autos?

PSA 9 for Heritage/TC will run you 6-8K. Finest can probably be had at 5-6 if you're patient. Anything PSA 10 you're looking at five figures range. People will say that the difference between a 9 and 10 are minute and while they may be mostly right, there's definitely a difference. PSA has been pretty consistent specifically with Sho autos. Not a lot of head scratchers with a 10.

A Gypsy Queen auto in 9.5 went for 4.6 yesterday which I thought was a good deal. Many don't like GQ since it was discontinued and not a main set, but it's a beautiful on card that's condition sensitive with a nice image. Stay away from stickers. They have a case, but that's not where you want to start. More of a side quest imo.

Plenty of other fun chrome sets like sapphire, employee, and even obscure high end like Transcendent/Definitive/Diamond Icons/Tribute. Those will likely run you more than your budget though.

Oh, stadium club is still pretty cheap but super condition sensitive with very streaky autographs. I think they can be had at 3-4K range, sometimes cheaper.

Nope, all autos. Base, Goudey, Sports Royalty, Splash of color, 3D Lenticular, and my favorite Exquisite.

Trueblue is correct Stadium Club auto is the cheapest. As far as I know these do not have a high print run.



If you want numbered cards, flagship and chrome are the most desirable. Here are some gold they have a print run of 2018.



The flagship SP and SSP cards are nice cards. Here are what the SP cards look like (I am still looking to pick up the SSP).



Topps chrome refractor cards are very popular and worth looking into




Cards that I like and I think most people think will hold values.

Really appreciate all the help, so in other words i can basically only get one or 2 if I extend my budget a bit
