Speaking for myself, I'm buying a hobby box for fun and otherwise avoiding it like the plague.

I can't wait to receive my Mark Canha /899, game used swatch from Lloyd Jeffries Jr. III, and BWJ with a dinged corner.

What are we thinking 500ish million total cards with parallels and inserts included?

Now consider that a typical Pokemon release is 3-4 BILLION cards and it instantly sells out, shows you how many people are in that marketplace vs sports cards.

That's before factory sets...

Would love to see what the annual run is on Pokemon versus baseball (I assume baseball is the biggest print still).

Default 2025 Topps Series 1 Too Early To Talk About It??

The same guy who opened the 10 blasters and 11 fat packs just put up a video yesterday of opening 2 Megas. One numbered card out of the two Megas (flagship gold foil auto of Coby Mayo /50) and a Schwarber 1990 relic. Better hits but shocked that the only other numbered parallel he hit was two golds.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, per @toppsbb, there are only 9 of each of the 25 big hurt variations. So any Frank Thomas fans should jump on any of these if they ever show up.

Who’s chasing all 25 cards in this set?

They took an already super lame Panini border design and somehow made it significantly worse. I’m almost impressed

How baseball looks when played in The Matrix. I used to be impressed by players’ leaping abilities but know I know they are just climbing the numbers that are floating around randomly in the air.

I think by Monday we'll see hobby and jumbo boxes being opened. Then, it will be a race to the bottom on Wednesday.

Race to the bottom with Series 1 usually takes a couple weeks. It's the highest demand product of the year.

I'm guessing Independence will be the same design as last year, same for Camo.

I usually get shipping notification from Topps on Friday for Wednesday releases but still have not received it. Guess I won’t be receiving my case on release day. Good luck to those that do…

yeah Series 1 is usually ok until Heritage releases. With 2024 High Number hitting in March in time for Spring Training with all the big RC's including Skeenes I could see late Series 1 money going towards that instead.

In same boat but I think UPS has all the product already and just haven't added shipping info to Topps account yet.

Topps never touches this stuff, it goes straight from manufacturer to shipper and shipper knows what day it is supposed to deliver.

Do you mean FedEx? I always assumed Topps preps it all and FedEx picks up in evening.

Series 1 is always nostalgic and fun

But that is ridiculous amount of cards

Haven’t got my notification yet either. Wonder what the delay is?

I agree on both points. But does the base card print run really matter? No one buys the base cards for value. If they do, they aren't the brightest collector around. I don't really see why it matters if a base card has 700k copies or 2 million copies. Our hobby is MUCH larger than what it has been. If they didn't expand the print run no one could afford it. Everything ties together. It isn't possible to have it all. Topps can't shrink the print run and sell jumbo boxes for $100. It just isn't possible. If they even attempted something like that the bots would buy them all up, and the price would be $300 a box on the secondary market. The market will market. So the only way to help balance the equation is to increase the print run. There is simply too much demand.

If my LCS has jumbo boxes at $170 or below...I'll jump on two of them...if not, I'll pass this year.

My sense is that Fedex / UPS (whichever one Topps using for this release) has all the preorder cards in their possession, and the delay is just in getting the shipping details into our Topps accounts.

In other words, I don't think there's a delay in actual shipping. I'm in Denver and I bet my cards are already in Denver. Fedex / UPS won't deliver early or late, they'll deliver on Wednesday, and I'll get shipping info sometime before it shows up.

Pokemon says they print 12-14 Billion cards per year (and will increase this year). Look like Topps may make 2 billionish total baseball cards per year? If we assume 500 mill for S1 which is probably the largest print of anything in the year.

Not trying to be rude, but this isn't how it works. Have you done a preorder from Topps? FedEx picks up from Dallas and your tracking reflects that.

I'm guessing they are still working on getting labels printed as none of my cases have labels in the system yet, but peoples single box orders do, dating back to last week.

I'm in Colorado too, and we'll need these picked up Monday night to be delivered to us Wednesday.
