That's not true. The story doesn't disappear because a team moved. Those stories still exist. Mantle, Koufax, DiMaggio, Jackie, etc. Those all happened. Plus, this is the 5th time they've faced off in a coast to coast World Series. And the other 4 times were pretty storied. Koufax and Drysdale held Mantle and the boys to 4 runs in a sweep. Mr. October became Mr. October with 4 HRs on 4 consecutive swings in a Yankees 1977 victory; then he vaulted them again to become back to back champs in 1978. And of course, the weird strike season where they last faced off and the Dodgers came back to win 4 in a row after losing the first 2.

The two biggest markets going head to head is always going to be a story.

Dodger/Yankees game
USC/Rutgers game
Lakers/Suns game
East LA High School Classic football game at SoFi Stadium
David Gilmour concert at Intuit Dome
Jeff Lynne concert at Kia Forum

I would suggest leaving now to get there, if you are.

They've faced each other 5 times in the World Series since the Dodgers moved to LA, which is still the most common World Series match up in that time frame by a good margin.

Yes, this is still today for us out West for almost another hour, so the series starts tomorrow, not today here, but today, not tomorrow there, and for several hours already. It's all very confusing, but, really, no need to watch as the Game 1 final score will be 7-5, good guys.

As soon as I read this article, I breathed a sigh of relief and thought maybe, just maybe I will be able to snag another decent Shohei card on my teacher salary after this whole series shakes out
