Sort of a play on the misidentification trend:

almost all of my newly processed serial numbered cards have had the # on the card missing.

So a card #13/49 - for example - is showing up as /49 without the “13” in the listing. Which is a big change!

They correct them in a few hours when tagged but this is entirely new in the last month or so.

Woof, not the grading result I was hoping for.

Would've been plenty happy with a 9 and okay with an 8, but a 6? I've seen COMC with some pretty egregious examples of not having condition notes on thick-stock cards that are creased or otherwise destroyed, but for some reason I though they'd be better with thin-stock, chromium cards like this.

FWIW I cheaped out and didn't go for COMC's pre-grading service, but then again if they deemed it unworthy of grading then I probably would've sold it raw and some other poor chump would've gotten stuck with it.

Definitely has me spooked about some of the other raw stuff I've yet to get shipped to me. The only reason I graded this one was to dispel any doubts about its condition, and, well, that didn't go great. I'm not a condition freak, but a 6 is rough enough that I may end up selling it for a loss of a few hundred. Good learning experience, be cautious out there with mid to high end raw!

In case you weren't aware, you can also contact COMC customer service when considering a raw purchase on site and have them verify the condition in the warehouse. Especially on ones where the condition can change the value in the hundreds.

I wasn't aware they'd be willing to do that, good to know

In the past, theyve sometimes skipped putting the serial number and just listed QTY made, so instead of /49 theyd just put QTY made 49. It wasnt common but i would notice when buying serial numbered cards on the site.

So for those of you that have submitted cards to COMC's eBay live auctions, what have your results been so far? I have a card in the ~$40-50 range according to recent sales that I'm considering submitting (more of an experiment than anything else) but I don't want to end up a horror story where it only sells for $5 and I end up losing money. Lol

I haven't submitted to the Live auctions in a few months, but when I did it was very "hit or miss".

The stuff that usually did well was current in-demand players / rookies / inserts, other low #ed inserts and parallels. and anything that was visually appealing (gold, refractors, game-used cards with multi-color patches, etc.).

Common, obscure, and run of the mill stuff was all over the place as far as what it sold for.

I would not go the Live auction route unless you like to gamble. Sometimes you make out, sometimes you don't...

Does anyone know when they are live? I know that there are some steals to be had, but I haven't been on forever so I do not get updates when they go live anymore.

Cool, thanks for the input. I'll probably decline trying out ebay live for now, though my card is of a player you would call a "hot prospect" and #'d to 99.

They are on right now. I usually get a notification at like 1130 CT (0930 in Seattle) that they've started them. Sometimes they also have afternoon shows.

Ok, about 685 people on the stream. Saw several cards sell for less than $10 so far, including some for 99 cents. So the 99 cents cards the seller is losing over $4 then??

incorrect identifications getting bad and it seems to be more prominent on serial numbered cards
just had another they identified entirely wrong its out of /15 but they listed as 199 and had the first part of the serial wrong too.

I've had a few sixes - even a few fives - COMC grading is like roulette - it just isn't worth the $22 on 98% of cards

97 port sales right now and not one of them interesting in the least. Not sure if people are trying to actually sell their port, trying to get items viewed, or just trying to annoy me.

So they finished processing my select sub exactly by the due date. They've also finished all but maybe a dozen cards from my standard sub. Makes me think I should have just sent the whole shipment as standard and no select. Lol

Getting my requested 9/14 economy shipping with 80 cards today in the mail. Really happy with them beating their estimated times recently.

Yep, I got my 9/15 requested economy in the mail yesterday. I had over 100 cards. I did notice on my last shipment the slips were a little different. I do not know if that has helped the process in some way or not. Maybe that has been brought up before, I do not know.

The port sales still stink.

My guess is they got too much low end 'junk' that wasn't selling and they aren't making any money on for the discount they gave. But it's COMC so you never know why they do the things they do.

Anyone use the Mailbox recently? I'm attempting the Mailbox again on a low-end item I'm trying to flip. The last item I sent to the Mailbox (several years ago) was checked in...then never heard from again. COMC eventually did reimburse me for fair market value, but it was a personal collection card Is this option generally reliable?

I have used the mailbox a good amount over the last year or so. Never had any issues.

Last one:
1 card, charged $3
Arrived at COMC 9/12 and was added to my account on 9/17
