I sent a graded and raw sub together, arrived July 10th. Between Aug 8-19 they added 7 of the 13 graded cards. The remaining 6 have not moved since. The raw sub Estimated Date moved from 11/1 to 11/5

So I have thousands of 70's-80s cards straight from vending. I don't do grading as I have no eye for that sort of thing. There are a bunch of gradable pieces certainly.
That being said, when I look on COMC, the lowest priced stuff tends to be VG or EX or EX-MT. Do people scroll through for better condition pieces? Seems like a lot of work. Second question. Let's say something like 1982 Topps Tom Seaver. Low ask is around $0.89. There aren't any that approach even NM until about $1.25. If I price one that is almost certainly a NM-MT 8 I would think, maybe higher, at $1.10 or so, how likely is it that it would sell? Now multiply that scenario by several thousand different cards. Is it worth it? |

1) Wait for a submission special to minimize submission cost.
2) Yes, there are PSA set registry people scouring for gradeable cards, but in those years it basically needs to be HOFers, SPs, or known condition rarities. 3) What else would you do with the cards if you didn't send them to COMC? 4) Maximize your return by filtering out cards centered less than 60/40, because those will likely just sit there. |

How often do they have submission specials? I definitely agree. The years I am talking about are so mass produced that the only way to separate my stuff is to make sure they are really really nice. And definitely only HOF or condition rarity (if I find ones that fit that bill). My hope is that someone looking for quality cards finds one of mine and then looks at the rest of my stuff. Maybe? Without doing this they are just sitting in my basement. It seems like the best way to have someone else deal with the listing, shipping, getting eyes on your items etc. Thank you again! |

I had the same card listed in my personal eBay listings and on eBay through COMC. Today someone bought the one I have. I asked why they bought mine and they said it was .20 cheaper (I didn't think that was true, maybe something weird with taxes) and my photos were better than COMC.

Historically they do their submission specials a couple days after I send in 1000+ cards so I’ll let you know next time I print a shipping label to COMC. 😝

I thought there hadn't been a processing special in like 8 years until the one earlier this year.

Going to jump in here to avoid a new thread. When you send cards in to COMC do you have to provide a list, or do you just send in a box of cards and they put them up under your account for you to price? I have a bunch of singles that I want to at least get out of my house, but I don't want to sell for pennies on the dollar to a card shop.

No list necessary - You click on the "Start New Submission" option on the left menu in your dashboard and it will walk you through. You'll need to provide a count of how many cards and print out a submission slip COMC will generate at the end of the submission steps, but you don't have to list out individual cards.

So somehow just about all of my standard sub has been processed, while only 1/2 of my select sub has been processed. Due date for my standard sub is 1/6/2025, while my select sub 9/24. I guess I shouldn't be complaining as my standard sub seems like it'll be all but finished in less than 2 weeks, but interesting how it's played out.
Already sold over 30 cards (though a handful I barely broke even Lol). |

He may be including the ones that they do at card shows like the national. Usually there are two free seller promos, but not always that many submission specials. However, the top 10% of sellers usually get promos that others may not get (or get access or notification early so they can submit before the rush).

This is now the third time I have purchased a rip card from COMC and it arrived ripped, even though it was not indicated that it was ripped. This item cost me $94, and it is virtually worthless. It is even more alarming that COMC is not checking to see if these cards are ripped prior to listing them, and shipping them.
Earlier today I requested a shipment including this item: *****. Please check that it was never ripped prior to sending it to me. The last rip card I sent back was this item:120232267, the serial number on the card was 15/60. When I returned the card I noted that it was ripped. It is still listed on your site as if it was not ripped. It is currently 215391942. This is not a good look for COMC. |

it sounds more like the seller is looking to (excuse the pun) rip someone off if this was true. If it was a ripped card why would they be putting in an asking price close to triple digits? where was the rip located on the card? |

The seller can just separate the back from the front of the card with a razor. It keeps both halves intact, and must go through the scanner without looking ripped. A simple test of the two sides would pull them apart, with an empty inside. Would be nice if they did that before listing them.
