This. 400 homers. 1000 RBI. 2000 hits. None of these milestones are locks anymore. Too many counting stats being left on the table due to injuries. There is a big difference between making the hall and being an all time great. I think the all time great ship has sailed. Right now Ronnie is trending hall of very good IMO. I sold my Acuna’s in April. Zero chance I will buy back in with the injury history.Acuna was already priced at HOF GOAT levels anyway. Losing proposition long term IMO. To each his own after all this is a hobby.

He will still make the HOF provided he maintains relatively good health when he comes back. That is a big if though. His landmark 2023 season helps his case. But you have to recognize that stealing bases is easier than ever, and Elly is a 30/100 guy if he would just strikeout less.

All that said, big difference between making the Hall and being an all-time great. He was priced for greatness. Many here thought he’d only get better after last year. Crazy stuff.
