What Shreve said^^^. You should always have the buyer file a complaint before you refund....with or without scans, you are covered, but they do ask for buyers complaint screenshot and processed refund screenshot to be sent with the claim. I'm not sure if they will process an insurance claim without a buyers complaint, never had that scenario happen.

General eBay question:

Is there anything as a seller we can do to help limit the amount of "buyer wants to cancel order" after selling them something? This has been happening a lot of late for me (twice yesterday). Does anything happen to the buyer when they do this? It's quite frustrating. I guess I could always just block them.

If you can see into the future and know which buyers are going to bid in your auctions, you could block them before they have the chance.....otherwise not much you can do. eBay may or may not say that they will not something, but doubtful anything ever gets enforced for buyers who cancel. The "Binding Contract" thing sounds good, but doesn't really mean much.

I think the reason they are asking is they are afraid of auto-pay.

All in all, I think you just have to grit your teeth and accept the cancellation. I keep a spreadsheet of user names (and names when available) of people who do this, but it happens so infrequently that there's yet to be a 2nd time.

I had a 3 cancelled orders in January, but only one was an auction. When someone hits the BIN and asks to cancel before I even see the sale, I assume they are being honest when they say they ordered by mistake. In the year before that I probably had one.

I think tge rise in these is a direct result of auto-pay. Nothing you can do but accept and move on. Ebays reasons tgey give buyers proves tgey don't care. One reason is found better price

I'm sure this has been discussed here, but I was pleasantly surprised that you no longer have to wait 15 days to get your money back on a PIP claim. Had two over the last two weeks and I was paid out within 48 hours.

Yep it's usually pretty quick and easy. You just can't submit the claim until it's been 15 days after you shipped.

So for INR its 15 days and no longer 30? That is awesome.

I would say a 21 day with how these go would be IMO ok also. I just see more filings coming an buyers maybe trying to take advantage, but we will see how it goes.

That isn’t true anymore. That’s what I was saying. The last two I submitted same day I refunded and got paid within 48 hours.

I've done 2 in the past week and both times it told me it had not been 15 days yet since I shipped so I couldn't submit the form. After waiting a couple days so that it had been more than 15 days, it let me submit and I got my refund the next day.

In my recent experience, I was able to file within the 15 days for a damage claim, but did have to wait the 15 days for an INR claim.

I'm getting an error when I try to print a label for the eBay Standard Envelope.

In red at the top after I click Purchase Shipping Label:

"It was not possible to generate the label. Something is wrong. Please try again later"

Never seen that before.

I've had that happen. Sometimes it is an issue with the system and waiting a few minutes fixes the issue. Other times, it actually purchased the label with the error. When I went to "Purchase another Label" it stated I had already bought one and could reprint it.

Oh, maybe that's the difference then. Both of mine were INR claims. Makes sense, you shouldn't have to wait for damage since it was delivered.

I waited a bit and then it went through thanks. Guess it was just some random error. Thankfully it didn't think I purchased multiple labels.

One was a damage and one was an INR.

I had something like this happen with a Puerto Rican address. I don't know if territories are disqualified or if it was a fluke. I just ate the Ground Advantage difference to get the thing out on time.

In my experience ESE are not eligible to go to PR or other US territories. Also, US military bases over seas can be a pain.

Some pr addresses are eligible others are not. It has something to do with how they enter it in. I have shipped many to PR with no issues other than Puerto Rican buyers are often just overall PITAs

For me, Puerto Rico was a portion of 1 of the 217 countries I dont ship to, so I had to uncheck them from that list and I was good to go.

I think the problem with PR is when the buyer inputs his country as PR....if that is changed to US I have had no problems with ESE to PR. I just had to ask the buyer to make that change, they did, eBay ESE label ran without issue.

Way back when ESE was first implemented, I had a couple issues with PR addresses. I asked CS and their response was to ship First Class BMWT (now Ground Advantage BMWT) and they reimbursed me the shipping difference. It may not hurt to reach out to CS to see if they'll do the same for you here.

I've had no issues with PR buyers since, but other issues have been attributed to how the buyer enters their PR address as others mentioned above.

I had no issues before but last summer I ran into issues and CS was no help so I just blocked them from my potential buyer pool. Mostly they were buying $1.49 mtg cards so it's no big miss on my end.

EDIT: This seller refunded me down to a normal ESE shipping charge after I asked him about it. Leaving the original post intact below.

My $12+ shipping charge item arrived today in a cardboard mailer and $1.12 (3 oz) ESE label. Contacting seller about whether I was due any refund in case maybe they just forgot. If not, will be leaving neutral FB.
