new $0.75 shipping from eBay
I didn't see anyone else post this yet; so ignore if it's already been discussed ...
Brent Williams (78.4K Tweets) @brentandbecca on Twitter has been reporting: "Here are the AMAZING details of the upcoming, new 75 cent shipping option for ebay sellers in the sports card category WITH TRACKING!!!! WOW WOW WOW" https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:xjV4eiBdLi0J:https://pages.ebay.com/seller-center/shipping/ebay-standard-envelope.html+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us#m22_tb_a1__6 ... This means we can sell PWE in a semi-rigid and get full eBay protection and tracking for just $0.75 per card ... this is a GAME CHANGER |
This is indeed very interesting, especially with COMC now having 6 month shipping times.
I wonder if there's anything preventing putting a toploader in an envelope. When I used to ship PWE, I used a photo envelope (fairly sturdy cardboard, but still bendable), plus a team-bag wrapped toploader and I think that was all under 1/4" inch thickness. The $20 damage coverage here is a really big deal too. Kudos to eBay for finally doing something innovative and helpful for sellers. |
Go crazy folks
|
Finally beootches !!
|
Whoa this is huge. When does this take effect? I tried to change my current listings but was unable to do so.

I sell and ship a lot of low $ cards on ebay in a toploader and PWE. I enthusiastically welcome this new method. It's about $0.25 more expensive than me just using a forever stamp so $0.25 for tracking and piece of mind is a no-brainer.

Wow, cool! Took 20 years, but cool anyway.
|
Nice!
|
Am I reading it correctly that $20 is the magic number? Hopefully they offer something for International Shipping.
|
I’ll do this for any PWE sales in the $4+ range
Anything $0.75-$3 I’ll take my chances and continue to sell the regular way w/o the added tracking cost |

I think that’s just the amount of insurance they will cover. |
This would be big time. Lots of low end cards I like that I either have to skip, or pay 50-150% of the price of the card just for shipping
|
When does this change start?

LOVE THIS! 2020 ain't all bad!

As someone who buys a lot of $2-$5 cards, I would happily pay an extra quarter per item to have tracking. I've got a backlog of PWE shipped cards in my purchase queue and have no idea whether they ever even made it in the mail. |

The link says this works for up to 4 cards in sleeves or 2 cards in toploaders. I wonder with the whole $20 limit if that means they won't make this option available to the seller for a card that sells for over $20 (so it's not a matter of $20 in insurance, but a $20 price limit on the sale/auction). |
I'm all in for this - will allow me to also greatly reduce the sheer number of #000 envelopes I've got. Then I can go back to plain PWEs.

I buy stamps in bulk from a stamp collector for 38 cents per pre-stamped envelope. So anything under $5 I will continue to use those. Anything between $5-20 I'll be using the tracking option once it launches. |
The only thing that concerns me is that they pulled the link from the site after posting it. They did a lot of work on this, so I figure it will still happen, but who knows when.

It explicitly mentions top loaders, I don't think anythings gonna change with card savers |
This is the best thing eBay has done for for the trading card hobby in a long time.
