My guess is that this will be much like the captcha. Something they for some reason thought it was a good idea to do but will drop it because of the blowback (which is well deserved).

there should eventually be a option where you only have to verify once every 45 days ... A couple of days of bugs is worth it becuase the MFA is much needed and important update.

They keep trying these random validations and do it in the worse way possible.

First it was having to accept cookies over and over again for months. Then it was the captcha every time, which now I long for. I was logged in for 5 minutes earlier, clicked on a link and it made me log in again with another code.

If they are going to do this, a pretty simple 'trust this device' box would be really really helpful. You know, like every other website out there.

If this is permanent, this is the last straw for me. Captcha killed sales enough; this will destroy them. Who is running this clown show?

Having only like 500 cards that are likely overpriced is what killed your sales pal.

I've started sending support a complaint every time that, I have to do an email validation. I'm saying in those complaints that if I do that, it'll give them a little idea of how annoying the email validation is to us. I know, that this is passive aggressive of me, but they need to hear it from us on this.

Captcha wasn't bad, but this requires maneuvering between apps/windows. And I've already had one email take a few minutes to arrive in my email only to have the verification code expire in that time.
This 2FA is bad.
And the really funny thing is that whenever I use my phone to log in, it does the Face ID for the username and password, which is more secure than the 2FA ever could be.

I got the verification email and logged in, but can’t search or make offers or anything really because of servers being too busy this morning. I assume their system is just overloaded with angry messages this morning, lol.

yeah this new 2fa stinks, worse than captcha.
not sure what's going on requiring them to enable all this but it should be an opt in feature and then if using email they need a way to change your email address.

if they want to go for higher security then enable authenticator apps as an option, more secure and quicker
but really do i need more security with comc than some banks offer?

This is dumb, I don't need 2FA for my $40 in 100 baseball cards; if they were laying on the ground in the open in public, I doubt anyone would stop and pick them up - why do I need 2FA for that?!

Sent a not so happy email yesterday. Response this morning

"Thank you for your message and concerns with the COMC webpage. COMC is implementing a system update today, we are aware this is impacting a number of users' ability to log-in. We consider the resolution of this issue a top priority and will look to have this updated shortly.

I am sorry for any inconvenience this has caused now and in the future.

We thank you for your patience at this time"

If it's a top priority to fix this, why don't they have this as a big yellow announcement on their front page explaining the situation? Why keep everyone in the dark except a few people that ask about it?

Agreed, I'm constantly on their lack of communication. They could avoid so much blowback and complaints etc by just being transparent. But they never are except for the 3 months of Julia emails that bragged about how well they were doing.

I'm having this same issue. I had them correct this a year ago and it seems my old defunct email address is being used for 2fa. I am blocked out of my account as well. Hummppff.

So if the email address I have associated with my account, that I created like 10 years ago, I no longer have access to am I just SOL getting logged in?

I guess a valuable lesson on keeping email up to date on websites with money involved.

Problem is, even when logged in, I see no way to even see which email address is associated with the account, and no way to change the email address.

I can see and change my name, address and one phone number. But I can't add an additional phone number. I can't change the email address, nor can I add an alternate email address.

At the very least, you should have the option of having the code sent to your phone, either as a text message, or as a voice message.

I received a reply from COMC, this was intentional and they are playing the "for your own good" card.

Iīve no problem with the process itself. Itīs annoying on mobile but, fine... more protection? Good!

BUT! When you intend to implement something like this, make sure to give your customers a heads up.
Like a few months back, when you had to confirm their new TOS, just put in an extra step after a log in, and ask to check the entire presonal data,
including the registered email to be up to date and/or give the option to change it if needed. Something like that.

Now thereīs literally hundreds of user that canīt log in and will flood your CS with emails they likely canīt handle.
At this point though you got to say...typical COMC management move

I was trying to request a PayPal cash-out yesterday and the site kept freezing and would not let me process the request until hours later.

I wonder if there was a thwarted "attack" on the site that prompted them to start the Two-Factor Authentication login process again.
