Who wins not doing the dutch? How many people only want to open 1 or 2? How many want to only hold 1 or 2? Sell breaks for 1 or 2? Resell 1 or 2? Having a set price with guaranteed 50%+ profit and low strict household limit guarantees 1 thing. Moving on - I hope Topps has fixed the issue MC had last year that prevented those who bought their MC allocation from buying up to the household limit during the public sale. The email today did state we should be able to get one more tomorrow:

*If you purchase 1 box during the Montgomery Club Pre-Order, you will be allowed to purchase up to 1 additional box in the public Pre-Order.

* While Supplies Last *

But saying that and actually fixing the programming in their order system are two very different things.

Many in here claim the new system has stopped botting. Based on the people I've seen with dozens or 100+ of the few in demand products with the strict household limits I know that isn't the case. The limit looks to be 2 or maybe even only 1 per household. If this sells out in less than several hours tomorrow it is 100% being botted. There are supposedly around 31,000 boxes.

Looking it over now I think there has only been 1 product worth it, right? Thought there was maybe 1 or 2 more but doesn't look like it. The one I can remember is Bowman Draft Sapphire. Pretty sure a guy on dealernet had exactly 100 listed at one point. That's just what was listed who knows how many he actually had. Saw a few other people with 30-50. The household limit was 10. It's not like Im looking for it or in any way or in the bot community. Im going off what I happen to see. Regardless that product was clearly botted. It sold out faster than Topps Chrome Update Sapphire when Update had no hard limit. There were countless people that bought multiple cases of Update Sapphire and it still lasted longer.

If Star Wars Sapphire isn't botted today it will be available for at least several hours. It should be most of the day. Assuming it's 1 or 2 per household with that hard limit how could they possibly go through around 31,000 boxes in less than several hours? Even if it was selling for more than double it should be available for a reasonable amount of time for anyone who wants it.

Didn't know about increase PR but if this is the trend for MC exclusive products this is no bueno. They lower print run on 23 Bowman Sapphire knowing MC was not going to get it. I guarantee you 23 Bowman Chrome Sapphire isn't a low print run with this trend. Sapphire products going to MC members not limited print runs. Sapphire products going straight to public will have limited print runs so people pay crazy $$ in dutch auctions, sad...

Where is the info on the PR for the product? Does not appear that the odds are posted on Topps website. yet. If true, that is a hefty PR for this type of product and also why there is no dutch auction.

If they did it via dutch auction, you'd just complain that it's not the right kind of dutch auction or that it was rigged or whatever. I can't recall ever seeing a Topps release that you were satisfied with.

I was able to complete the 150 card base set for 2022 Bowman Chrome Sapphire with a 10 box case and was about 30 cards shy of the 330 card base set for 2022 Topps Chrome Update Sapphire with 10 boxes so I am going to say 10-12 boxes with good collation.

31,000 boxes is assuming the parallels stay the same as last year and are 2 per box. If there are more parallels, which is very likely, the PR will approach or exceed 40,000 boxes.

If it is that high, have to wonder why there are no case options if there are 10 boxes per case like Sapphire options last year.

Maybe they are trying to make sure that as many people that want some will get it.

One thing that no one is mentioning is that this is coming as a preorder. I think it’s s the first ever that a sapphire release is sold as a preorder. They have an official release date of 6/21, sort of implying that they may hold some to make available on that date. I know this goes against everything Topps has ever done before with sapphire but there are new people running the show now. There are a lot of cues pointing to this having a very large PR. All speculation of course but we will know for sure in a few hours.

Yep, makes sense. Only have so many to offer for pre-order and then have the rest and maybe 10 box cases up on June 21. May have an increased price as well by going off the Bowman presale and release date difference.
