Fields is lost out there on the field. He’s not ready for the big show yet. He needs a couple of year learning from a veteran QB.

My criticism (for lack of a better term) of him at Ohio State was always how slow he seemed to process, even in the wide-open, QB friendly OSU offense. It seemed like it would take him a half second too long to progress through his reads - I think he just needs to keep getting reps, but it's hard to speed that up with the absolute dump of WR the Bears have.

He is looking lost right now, will see if he gets better with more reps. This is the time to play him and work out all his issues.

This is why he didn’t play over Jake Fromm at UGA. Of course when he couldn’t get on the field, he transferred to OSU…that ran an easier offense.

Last thing the bears need is another OSU quarterback....I feel better picking bryce young or finding a gem in the later rounds...They could always get someone in FA but i doubt there's anyone out there worth getting
Then again this is the bears we're talking about.......Justin Fields, Mitchell Trubisky, Cade McNown, etc....Should i keep going?.....LOL I had high hopes for Fields but he looks like a deer in headlights out there....I can see the bears dumping Fields and drafting another QB like Arizona dumped Josh Rosen and got Kyler |

if you're #1 WR is Darrell Mooney, your entire team is in trouble.

I think it’s safe to say this dude is one of the worst qb’s this league has ever seen. That’s not exaggeration either.

In the 2020's, they took Fields in the 1st round. The decade before that (2010), they took Mitch in the 1st round. The decade before that (2000) they took Rex in the first round. The decade before that (1990) they took Cade in the first round. The decade before that (1980) they took Jim Harbaugh in the 1st round. They draft a QB in the 1st round once in every decade, I dont see why that is laughable. But I agree with you on Fields. Word out of the team is, that he likes to sulk. And thats why his coaches dont come to him on the bench after bad plays, to show him what happened on the tablet. In fact, look at most any shot of his on the bench between plays. And he sits alone. Not saying the whole team doesn't like him. But a lot of them dont, as I hear he has a poor attitude. |

Jimmy G now got into 2 games, and he bumped Fields from 32. In 3 games, Fields has fumbled 3 times and thrown 4 picks. Against 2 passing TDs and 1 rushing TD. Completed barely half his passes, for under 300 yards in total. That is less than 100 yards passing per game. In a league where we already have 4 players with multiple 300+ yards in a game already, through week 3. Week one I get it, no one was throwing in the monsoon. But the media and fans were putting the heat on the Bears staff, for not trusting Fields enough to throw VS Green Bay. They opened things up a bit more for him yesterday, and it was a disaster through the air for him. |

Could be the coaches not doing their job, or them just avoiding Fields, as his ego can be a bit fragile from what I have overheard. Do you think the team would say anything except "Justin is great, we all love him"? If his teammates said anything about his attitude or pouting, they would get into trouble. Sad, but true. No one wants to talk down about the new face of the franchise. You can see a little of it when he talks to the media. Short answers, doesn't explain too much. Get a little agitated when criticized for things he did wrong. Who know, maybe its just him being young. Or even bashful. Im just saying what I have heard from current players, when his name comes up. |

Yeah Im not going to crucify a QB who beat the 49ers in crap conditions, and got jobbed by the GB refs and then beat the Texans and looked slightly better. I am just learning to be more patient than the knee jerk people on blowout though.
It's good though keep driving his prices down like people did with Allen, and Mahomes and Lamar and everyone else before they have even played a FULL SEASON. Makes it easier for me to buy and sell back to everyone at 10x in a couple of years. |

You can blame Nagy I guess, and being a rookie, for his performance last year. But he didnt really get any better as the season went on. He should have been able to pick apart the lowly Texans at home. And yet he went 0 TD 2 INT and had a QBR of 19.4. Last week, he went 0 TD 1 INT and a QBR of 6.4. Last year he had these lows, in order, 5.5, 11.7, 27.1, 2.7 (I didn't know that was possible), 9.8 & 21.5 QBR. Last year his QBR was 26.4, now its down to 23 New system, new coach I wont crucify him either. But he doesn't really look to be improving. |

The reference to mahomes- Allen gave me a chuckle. Fields isn’t remotely in the same stratosphere as those fellas. FACTS as a lifelong Bears fan. He has been absolutely atrocious. The only reason they won games this season is because of the Defense and run game. He’s completed around 23 passes in three games. His QBR is under 50. I don’t think it’s any knee-jerk reaction if you’ve actually watched the games. Makes me yearn for the days of Cutler and sexy Rexy again. Too bad I was really pulling for the kid but he seems lost and I thought drafting him was a good move. Seems I was mistaken Last edited by Jed Clampett; 09-26-2022 at 03:56 PM. |

Since you're oh so wise, go look at Josh Allen in 2018 before they got Diggs, 12 games just like Fields 2k yards 10 td 12 ints, Fields had 1.9k 7tds 10ints. See how they are in the same STRATOSPHERE? Man people like you need to brush up before hitting the boards, sheesh. Calm down, Fields will be fine, they will draft or sign a top or trade for an actual WR1 next year, and he will take off just like the other QBs. Rebuilding takes time it doesn't just happen like a snap unless you walk onto a playoff team. Fields is winning despite being on a god awful team who's best player is an OK middle line backer, the guy is not jesus he can't perform miracles. They need a couple of better lineman and a WR1 and Fields will live up to his potential. Of course by then you and all the other immediate gratification mouth breathers will probably have "moved on" from him by then. |
