There are other rookies actively playing the MLB? You'd never know based on this forum...without threads like this. Thanks OP for reminding us Julio actually had some respectable competition for the award, although I think Julio will run away with it.

I'm impressed Kwan is hovering around .300, he's hitting .296.
Kwan has only 5 homeruns but Wander Franco hit .288 with 7 homeruns his rookie year and everyone says he's a once in a generation first ballot hall of famer already.

As a massive Os fan and Adley supporter... Hoooliooo will win it. Unless...he's gone for the rest of the year, and Adley cranks the rest of the year.

Sorry but at this point in time with only a handful of games left there isn’t anything anybody else can do to take ROY away from Julio.

I think the voting will be closer than people think. I still say Julio, but Adley has come on great. I don't think people realize how good he has been for the Orioles.

Yeah, even if Julio is out for the year, Adley won't have as many games in as he does, and Julio still has an advantage on almost all stats. Julio has been the favorite for so long, it would take something huge to swing the vote in another direction.

Pitch framing is not going to win the award for Adley.

Silly me -- I didn't realize the season was over and there weren't two weeks of games left and a tightening AL wild card race.

I guess Judge fell short of the AL home run record, considering the season is over.

12 games left for Adley. WAR is the most commonly referenced stat for awards consideration. Playing catcher is not like other defensive positions.

To be fair to Wander, he had a slow start at the plate last season but then got locked in. He only played half the season. He tore it up in the postseason, as well.

I'm aware of all of this, and Julio is still going to win. Both guys are going to be great, but Julio has been top of mind for too long to lose the award at the end of September.

.934 OPS with 4 home runs this month. Don't sell your guy short.

Julio will win the ROY, but if I'm starting my team with one of the two, I'll take Adley.

As an aside, disappointing to have to wait until his sophomore year for rookie cards.

Adley gets my unsolicited and inconsequential ROY vote.

Is Julio now considered injury prone?

Is posting a screen shot of basic ESPN numbers some sort of a drop-the-mic move?

Love how putting up “basic numbers” is now somehow looked down upon by WAR lovers.

WAR is not the best statistic to use when comparing two players.

WAR is a comparison between players of the same position. If they do not play the same position the impact is
more difficult to compare.

Adley is the clear winner but won't win.
