Shohei had a decent line, but of course Angels find a way to lose. 6.0 IP, 2ER, 8K, 7H, 1BB going 1-4 at the plate. His pitching was not very sharp today but it was also a very warm day into the 90s.

We're pretty spoiled when this is a meh night.

I have it from a reliable source that Ohtani has significant personal reasons for staying in CA.

Just grasping..

For sure, I was thinking the same thing...last year it was like "please let him get his ERA under 3.0" and this year it's like "6 IP, 2 ERs I guess he did alright".

Anyone have a guess when Ohtani will be pitching next? I plan on attending a game this weekend at Comerica Park. Is it possible he will pitch Sunday? Also, was wondering if getting tickets by the visiting dug out would be helpful in seeking an Ohtani autograph (does he still sign)?

If you are attending a game he is pitching I doubt he will sign autographs.

ESPN gives probable starters for games up to about 1 week away. By this schedule, his next start is on Sunday.

I know they've been in AZ for a while now, but the others are interesting expansions!

On a serious note, I think the Japanese food access is the more legitimate consideration, as that's what he primarily likes to eat. So basically it still comes down to CA or Seattle if he's food driven. Seattle does not have in-n-out - a great city but a glaring flaw I experienced when living there.

I think I'm going Friday night and may go again Sunday to see him pitch (assuming the weather cooperates).

but Seattle has Burgermaster, which is far better. He just hasn't tried it.
Also, Seattle has TONS of Sushi and Asian foods.

As a five year Seattle resident, I agree on the Asian food but am loyal to in-n-out.

Seattle and OC/LA are both great cities with terrible traffic. Even in the brief years I was there, you could visibly see the population density burst at SeaTac/SLU/Bellevue. Carbon copy of the Bay area 15 years ago. Kind of crazy to think that the sonics left just a handful of years ago due to no fan base. I do think the city has the base now to powerfully back a really popular sports team. Hopefully the Mariners.

Dick’s is better. Seattle had plenty of really good quick hamburger places.

I’ve seen him sign for the camera a few times and it’s a madhouse - best to bring something that would get his attention [like a big, creative sign] and stake him out on a non-pitching day where he just might be feeling generous.

Ohtani will learn quickly that INO is the most overrated thing on planet earth

Great marketing scheme though to convince the dummies

2018 Bowman Chrome Auto BGS 9.5 RC sold for just over 5K
A nice jump since the last sale.

You almost never see the Bowman first pitching Auto pop up anymore on auction. I did put in a floor bid for that one, but bravo for breaking 5K as it should (5.45k). I don't want or need anymore, but I'll take it if I have to .

If he stays healthy, not much more time to lock up that future hobby grail. Sell the small ones and buy the big one!

I agree on the overrated. It is good in cities without a homegrown hamburger chain but nothing special otherwise. They do pay well and provide better food than other fast food chains which is great.

I’m sure by now Ohtani would have tried food all over the country. Not that he would stay in Cali just for their food.
