I honestly don't think it's him. It looks to me like management is pushing this. Which makes sense because he's not even a year removed from ACL surgery. Any issue with his lower body they will be over cautious with him for the foreseeable future.

Bobby Cox is infamous for having a rule for injured players. He would basically wait until a player is 100% then say "Okay, great, we're giving it one more day."

It sounds like Ronald is 100 or close to it so maybe Snitker, who is close with Bobby, has a similar mindset. Acuna wants to play. He's been very clear about that in interviews.

I personally like the way they are handling Acuna. The long term 10 year contract that he signed with them was for a real bargain but it may turn out to be the best thing he's done for his baseball career (not earnings). Braves feel absolutely no pressure to rush him back and they seem to be taking a long view on his career, instead of prioritizing getting the most out of him now.

Let him contribute and heal properly at the same time. I hope we get a lot of DH this year for him and he can take the year to work on that part of his game so we eventually get an even higher batting ceiling for him in a few years along with the great defense when he's fully healthy. He's one of the most naturally talented young players in MLB history, hopefully we get to see that talent/excitement for years and years.

This made me question that white jersey sale. Hard to put both of those cards in the same class. Both are amazing, but the Soto is the better card.

Lol, okay, on those merits, we could certainly debate all day, but Soto has fewer cards and doesn't have a card in series 2. That would be my main argument outside or performance debates. Given those 2 sales, you would really prefer the Acuna?

I'm definitely more of a Soto homer than Acuna, but no way the Gatorade bath is remotely close to the Acuna white jersey.

How so? I own a heck of a lot more acuna than soto and stand to gain a lot more from his success, but this is a no brainer in my opinion. That Soto card will go down as an absolute icon. I don't feel the same way about the Acuna.
