Definitely wasn't just a move to split KP's salary. Bertans is whatever but Dinwiddie is a huge asset - shooting and playmaking. He's going to take some pressure off Luka and Brunson in ways that KP never did.

Amazing the impact of getting out of Washington for Dinwiddie. He looked terrible in DC the last 20 games. For now, he looks like an asset to the Mavs. Go figure!

Sounded like Washington was full of clowns who didn’t want any of Dinwiddie’s leadership. Said it after the Warriors game, but the guy is clearly a vocal leader on the court. He’s quickly earned Luka’s respect. KP never did that.

Bertans is streaky but he's had a few good moments so far. Kind of an overpaid luxury bench player to the Mavs. Hopefully he's got a few more hot shooting games in the playoffs and they can build his value back up and trade him in the off season. Too much money for a limited role player and he probably wont be happy with limited minutes in the long run either. I think he wants to be a starter somewhere but that's not happening in Dal unless he starts shooting the lights out. His defense isn't good enough to crack the starting 5 and take either Bullock or DFS starting job.

Both statement are over exaggerations. Luka is the anointed one in the future. Ja is an AI type, with hops. Both are good, but Luka the Don is a stone cold killer.

Agreed. Ja has been great this year, but a lot of guys look great in the regular season. We gotta see a couple years of that and playoff success before either of these guys can say that they are 'the guy'.

Same with the LeBron comparisons. It's fine to call regular season Luka the pick over regular season LeBron at this point if that's what you want, but all things being equal, I still want post-season LeBron until the point where Luka proves otherwise. And besides... there are also guys like Giannis and Durant that younger guys like Luka, Ja, Embiid, and Joker are all looking up to as well.

Some good games on tonight. DAL/GS, MIA/BKN, BOS/MEM.

Will be interesting to see how JA does vs Boston's defense and the Time Lord lurking around the rim. Boston actually plays a lot of teams in front of DAL in the coming weeks. Maybe they can help DAL out with some wins.

I missed the first half because i thought it was the late game for reason and i was watching BOS beat MEM. But good outcome on both fronts for DAL.

Luka has established himself as a great regular season player. He's put together multiple seasons with great stats, set a lot of records for youngest ever to do _______. Pretty much all he has left to do in the regular season is win MVP.

Ja is the most exciting player in the NBA right now. But it's his first season as an All-Star. He's a couple years behind Luka in terms of consistency.

But as the great Walt Frazier says,

“The regular season is where you make your name, but the postseason is where you make your fame.”

We'll see who's who in May-June.
