panini has assets in employees and product lines that would be valuable to fanatics.

It also depends on what type of deal this is as well. If it is an outright purchase, then antitrust could be argued, but if it is a merger or a licensing, that could be different.

Total market cap of the 3 companies (Topps, UD, Panini) combined is less than $5B, way too small for any meaningful review that would delay anything.

I suppose that's a fair point. And it's not like anything ever seems to get much review anyway, for that matter...

Isn’t that the truth. They are still trying to figure out how to review $2T companies. As much as we love cards, the market is still tiny.

I'm on a nice email chain with them looking for mine with emails coming in every week or so (cheap card so no real big deal, but it could have been). I should've read the advice on Blowout first and sent delivery confirmation. Lesson learned.
