Did you hit a casey mize base card I could see a pic of?

The Nolan Ryan is the only Retired player other than the gold Gwynn.

I’m liking the majority of the pics. Some familiar pics from other 2021 products though.

This was one of the times I went against my gut and didn't buy more than 1 box. The negativity that was in this and the Montgomery Club thread kinda put a damper on my mood to buy more than the 1 MC presale. Not blaming anyone, as I understood the concerns and shared them myself which is why I was on the fence..but my initial feeling was that even at $200 and a less than stellar rookie class it would've been a solid buy. Oh well..I'll just enjoy my 1 box

Yeah, sometimes I just have to take a chance and hope Topps knows what they are doing. Lots of distrust but due to history of keeping PRs low for exclusives and the limit of 1 box kept my interest. Many thought $200 was too much (and still might) but I think Topps got it right for the checklist and to keep the bots at bay. At $55 there would be no chance for many humans and probably challenging at $100. And right now many boxes are going for well over $300 on the secondary market.

With odds of pulling a refractor the same as pulling a gold refractor, I’m thinking print runs on non auto refractors are close to 50, same as the gold.

They had a lottery last year. That seemed to work just fine.

Why do they refuse to make the base refractors green when the base is green? Last year with the All-Stars and this year with everything. Annoying.

Interesting. One of my favorite parts of last year's was that they didn't keep the all star refractors green.

Them silvers is pretty.

The black refractors look good.

I don't understand the hatred either. Its not 93, but I remember 94 being a premium treat when I was able to afford a pack or two, so I will enjoy these.

I think many in the hobby just listen to others likes/dislikes and join in with the crowd. The 1994 set is a product of that IMO.

I don't hate the ovals, they're kind of middle of the road for me

I do like the home plate design though, refs should pop nicely

Would have loved to see the Laser design from 94/95 NBA

I'm the opposite, preferring the oval design. Was hopeful the home plate refractors would pop, but the silver and black above are pretty underwhelming. Very glad the retired checklist went with oval.

I would encourage you to possibly wait until in-hand before casting judgment, as quick pics via cellphone rarely do the cards any justice

You are allowed to love it while others don’t, it’s ok. It doesn’t mean that their opinion is any less valuable then yours. I don’t understand why contrary negative opinions need to be dissected and negated on this board? Are you afraid that they will devalue your cards? Many people dislike 1994 Finest and it has been like that since 1994. I am glad that you like it. Enjoy your cards.

For sure will, but can still clearly see how little color there is with the home plate design compared to the oval. Last year's base design didn't really have more color either, but the 93 design still carried it. I'll be looking out for all White Sox regardless.

Are the black home plate designs the 'All-Stars" or are they the Black Chromes?

It's not the oval design that's an eyesore. It's the combination of colors and just how much there is on the cards.

I could also say that love of this product is a combination of it being a relatively hard to get online exclusive and nostalgia for some.

Huh?

I didn't say his opinion, nor anyone else's were not warranted. I don't understand your reply. I believe you are inferring something that I never said.
