I'm lucky I got to watch Tim Duncan's full career. Would I ever hear him put a turning point of a game on a mistake with 8 mins to go? Just lol. And poor Timmy missed 2 lay ups down 2 vs the Heat in a game 7.

Embiid is every bit the mental midget people say Simmons is. He's a beast. But he'll probs have the same result next season. Maybe worse.

I think Ben will be just fine.
You miss the point. It’s not ONE series. Simmons has made little to no progress as a player since entering the league. His confidence is dipping. Supposedly that’s due to lack of work ethic. Maybe that’d help his confidence. Even if that’s not why, which I believe it is, he still hasn’t made nearly the progress he should and that is glaring when it matters most. Feels like being robbed of what could be a generational talent.

It seems I live rent free in yours cupcake.

I won $3k betting on the Lakers to win the vacant title a couple seasons back. I'm good.

I don't believe it's a lack of work ethic. You don't become a top 2 defender in the NBA because you're not working hard.

I think that's what people just default to when they can't put their finger on something, like saying "the coach needs to say something to fire the team up", or "this guy wants it more!" (see Mark Cuban's rant to Skip Bayless).

The evidence of this happens every summer when the video clips of hit draining 3s comes out. Also, his shot has developed in the rare situations when he shoots. I mean, this is not bad shooting form:

It's pretty clear to me that it's just mental. Something about this guy makes him shrink in the moment. Just look at his free throw shooting... to begin the year he shot:
61%
65%
70% each month Dec-Feb. Then in the playoffs he was in the 30s.

I'm hoping a change of scenery alleviates some pressure and he opens his game up. Man would it be funny if he left Philly then started shooting the ball.

No offense. I usually appreciate your takes. But when multiple sources close to Ben say he doesn't put in the work. I am going to believe them. And even if I didn't. He was always a good defender. So I don't think he had to really improve or work on that. And that would also come as he matures and plays in more games naturally anyway. But for the most part, he's the same player he is when he came up, with less confidence.
I don't know why every criticism with Ben is like: "omg he's still good". Yes, we know that. That's not what is being said.

People really need to listen to Danny Green talking about him..

He's 100% a confidence player. You're right about the free throws. He's constantly improved. But these Playoffs were dreadful and a factor that can't happen again.

What we've seen from Doc and Embiid was gross and I've never been a part of a team where a coach would talk like that about a star player. Sure it wasn't the NBA but it was a pro League where we had 3 paid Americans and a couple of paid Aussies.

Behind closed doors the coaches might say they don't believe in a guy, but in no way do you say those kinds of things to the media. About a guy who is really pretty young still.

I'm looking forward to a comeback from Simmons. But I'm concerned how messy this gets..

I actually think if they don't trade him, he comes out balling compared to being a Harden and just walking around for 20 mins a game.

It's possible to work hard on one part of your game, but not another. I can't get my son to practice his dribbling skills in soccer for the life of me, but he will spend hours in front of a goal trying to make top bins. Some people just like practicing certain aspects of a sport more than others.

Boston traded Kris Dunn and Carsen Edwards to Memphis for Juancho Hernangomez and a swap of 2nds. They needed someone who can stretch the floor and take up some minutes behind Tatum at the four. Woj is reporting the trade can't be finalized until 9/15.

I think we can all agree this season is shaping up to be am all time great one.

Sure we might end up with a predictable BKN vs LAL Finals series thanks to the stacking.

But there's great Rookies potentially, amazing young talent, and a lot of star talent in their prime.

Can't wait..

When you are a pro making hundreds of millions of dollars you should have different priorities than a kid having fun playing soccer.

Or are you saying he has the mentality of a kid and refuses to better himself? I believe that.

[Wojnarowski] Brooklyn is trading C DeAndre Jordan, four future-second round picks and $5.78M to Detroit for Jahlil Okafor and Sekou Doumbouya. Pistons plan to work through a buyout on two-years, $20M owed Jordan; Nets will save $47M in salary and tax on deal.

Adios, Carsen…finally dumped that dead weight…Juancho is a good pickup, actually useful to the team.

Lord forgive me for ever insinuating Dunn could possibly one day become PG13-lite.

Man's been passed around more than ayyyejae at a Suns team meeting.

The Ben Simmons situation is getting messier by the day.

Interesting to see if they fine him..

Basically this could become a stalemate and neither will be healthy.

I still see no way Philly end up getting a better player back.

I would say the Simmons camp would go down the mental health route if arguing against any penalty. It seems they'd have grounds for that after Embiid and.Doc and whatever else was said or done behind closed doors..

And kill other teams interest in him. They want super star assets for a star player who is broken. At this point I don't think they sniff what PG got.

Really hoping his value drops a little farther and the Hawks can get him for Danilo and some change.

Absolutely 0% chance. Morey is a smart guy and he's not going to give Simmons away for free. Danilo is worth absolutely nothing in trade

Please no, Hawks already have a non-shooter in Capela and his passing skill is not necessary with Trae Young. What the Hawks need is a dominant scoring co-star, like Beal or Lillard. Btw, why hasn't the Wizards traded Beal yet? They gave away Russell for almost nothing, so I would think they're on rebuild mode.
