Opened 6 (3 for me, 3 for my partner) of these and am utterly disappointed. Will be uploading video of the break to youtube in a bit. This is what I thought it could be as a worst case. A retail dump money grab by blowout. Really, really disappointed and will probably not be supporting blowout from this point on.

Every one of these are bringing in more than $500 value correct? Seems a lot better than most repack products which are mostly losers with a few break even and the 1 or 2 winners per case right? Not sure why people think Blowout would load $2k worth of product into every one of these, but I could be missing something here...

Starting to go through this stuff I can't believe the prices on some of this retail. Are people really paying $500 for a 2017 donruss football mega box? I would never, ever rip that box at that price. I will admit I have no idea what most of this retail stuff is going for and I wouldnt touch any of it with a long stick. I got exactly 2 hobby boxes in 6 cases. A 2015 contenders draft picks basketball and a 2020-21 donruss clearly authentic. I rip mostly baseball and the only baseball boxes I got were retail, topps now and topps x Derek Jeter.

Maybe there is value here but it completely missed the mark for me. It is all stuff that blowout has way overpriced that is not moving at the prices they have it at as well as topps online stuff that they bought way too much of. Some people might enjoy it but I'll stick to the known from here on.

I've said the same thing at least 10 times in this thread. People were expecting hobby boxes in every box. Even if you wouldn't pay that much for a hobby box, that is the market price right now.

Wax has “become” expensive in large part due to insane mark ups by the Big 3.

So one of the Big 3 selling a mystery box with value based on their markups is going to get criticized.

This is the equivalent of buying any wax right now and expecting to break even. It’s not going to happen more often than not. If you aren’t okay with that, your best option is not to buy. There was no way that at $500, 90% of these boxes weren’t going to be overpriced retail boxes.

This whole thing reminds me of fake "sales" and "clearance" events at stores. Where prior to the big "event" they steadily raise the price of their own inventory so that when the sale happens people see "over $500 in value" or 33% off!!! Only they raised the cost of the item by 40% so you ended up never actually getting a deal lol.

When someone holds all the supply, they dictate the price. Everyone defending these prices doesn't realize they've been sitting on monster amounts of inventory. They most likely purchased truckloads of inventory when the items were priced at $19.99 so having an over 1,000% markup on items and pretending you're giving everyone a steal.... prepare to get criticized.

Every single repack and mystery product is intended to take advantage of current value versus acquisition cost. I know some people are disappointed, but I've yet to see a kick to the midregion that many of these products usually deliver. I can't criticize BO for the contents--seems like a solid average break with largely similarly valued products above the cost of the product with a few outliers to the high side. That's the best you can hope for from a mystery product.



If you didn't go into this realizing that this is a way for BO to make money, then that's on you.

I’ve complained about the retail but I also said that 2017 Optic Football should be considered a high-end hit. Boxes with that as a headline are not what I’m complaining about. My box was headlined with a 2018 Bowman Baseball Mega that now retails for $250. Great, except that it’s a product where there’s literally 2 packs of value and chances are you are just going to get 8 base mega refractors and 2 insert refractors. I’m sorry but I think any $500 box built around that without a hobby box is a slap in the face, especially when I’m seeing people hit a case of something and also hitting a basketball hobby box valued at $500 on top of it. Yes, there have to be winners and losers but that’s a pretty ridiculous spread.
