I suppose they could grade them now and them just assemble them when the holders come in.

Still looks like they are meeting overall timelines for Economy orders from March.

They are taking time to log orders but everything I have seen is that people are getting their cards back ahead of stated lead times.

Same. Too many people focusing on how long it's taking to receive (it's a valid concern in terms of security of the cards) and not enough focusing on the return timelines still hitting deadlines.

Unlike HGA where right now they have so many fanboys that any mention that an order is a few days late and you get bombarded with "well that's nothing compared to PSA" despite HGA guaranteeing turnaround times and CSG clearly states estimated turnaround times.

Waiting for the cards to return is not my concern really. I have waited much longer with PSA. I simply have issue with taking over a month to put my cards in the system, being as they don’t have the volume of PSA. Maybe I was expecting g more the. I should.

They provide turn around times, not enter or receive dates. Hard to judge them based on something they dont provide a date or timeframe on.

Of course this is coming from someone who just got confirmation yesterday from BGS that they received my 30 day order that was delivered on 9/1 of last year and the stated turn around time the day I sent it was 8-10 weeks... And I still have value orders into PSA 4 months old not entered in the system. So I'm a little more forgiving on this.

Totally get what you are saying. This is why I use group submitter for PSA. I don’t worry about how long it takes to get back to me. That is part of the game. I do get concerned when ps mage shows received and it is not in their system, that I can hold them to. But no biggie. It was a test and only after I sell the cards once graded will I determine if it is worth using them. ROI matters! How long it takes doesn’t. Since they, unlike PSA, charge me when I submit and not when they finish gracing. That is a major reason I use PSA.

And having wrote that, I just received their email that the cards are in the system. It all good now. Whenever I get them will be cool.

Only shows received. No grading date. That does not bother me at all. What I sent in is not prospect related. Sent in quality cards, but not super high end. Evaluating options besides PSA AND CSG is my last option. Not ever sending anything again to SGC, got 30% of PSA 10 value on a curry 10. HGA is not for me and the lottery custom slab. I have moved on from BGS.

They are currently in "grading/quality control" after going blank for a few weeks. These are bulks that were received on 3/8, so I still have about three weeks before their estimated 60-business-day turnaround would expire.

It could be because bulk like mine got sent to the back of the line in the massive wave, or because there's an Upper Deck Stature card in there that's too thick (whoops).

I'm really not worried.

I sent in my first order a little while ago as test run and am looking forward to getting them back. I did like you did and sent in mid-range type stuff. I did get a couple of CSG cards off Ebay and am very pleased with how they look in hand. I opted for no subgrades as I didn;t send anyting particularly great off, but think I definitely will pony up the extra two bucks in the future. They are almost identical to PSA in size so they fit in with the rest of my collection and I can use the same Perfect Fit sleeves which is a plus. Value wise they seem to be selling pretty good with a few auction listings ending pretty low though. Definitely need to be BIN listings with these right now.

Default Running CSG Order Tracker

Looks like the comps on 2021 Topps Series 1 are looking pretty stark (base Alec Bohm): $165 PSA 10; $100 SGC 10; $23 on CSG 9.5.

I applaud the folks doing BIN on the CSG stuff, avoid some bad auction comps.

I wonder what it will take to elevate the CSG brand. I love the cases, and they are pretty strict graders. There are some cases showing up on PSA with 35/65 centering getting a 10, so maybe it will all catch up.

I believe it is +10 bucks/card for subgrades.

That is why I got the subs for CSG. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt fit best possible ROI.

THAT example is huge difference for sure, but I think there will be far fewer PSA 10’s for these type cards.

Oof, that’s pretty bad. I think it will take some time for CSG to catch up.

The same Alec Bohm card sold for $55 in a CSG 9.5 a week ago fwiw. Still a huge discrepancy but, that's to be expected for a company doing almost not advertising, and that are letting their growth be organic as possible right now.

I do think it'll take people seeing these slabs in person to get them to be comfortable buying them too. That's what put me over the edge, I saw one at a card show and decided to make my first sub to them a day later.

Still a fairly huge price discrepancy on all their stuff. But they havent even been grading for 6 months and the vast majority of the hobby is still unaware of them. Like you said, once you actually get one in hand, everything changes.
But if you think about it, is PSA or BGS ever going to be an option for base stuff again? Take that card in question.. you cant send to PSA right now and when you can it will likely be at least $50 for a year long wait in which prices will inevitably down. And there is always the chance they give it a 9. To me, CSG is the only viable option for stuff like this.
As far as future value, if you see their product in hand and see what innovative things they are doing, it is clear this is the highest quality case and service available today and at amazing prices. They may not have the best flip to some people and market value isnt there yet, but if you are a strict grader of the cards and make a great product, your going to succeed and gain traction and value.

I agree - and I think PSA wants to get out of the business of grading ultra modern base as well. I still think there is value in graded base, given the price point. I don’t think the hobby grows with only having $1k #’d graded cards

I guess this is probably slightly OT, but bulk turnaround for CGC (the gaming counterpart to CSG) is now up to 211 business days. So call it 10 months and change, give or take, for orders being logged in today.

There was also a 2021 Topps Bohm CSG 10 w/o sub grades that sold for $355 at auction. Although I think this may have been the first or one of the first graded copies of this card.

SGC 9.5 is probably closer to CSG 9.5 as well. but yeah, sales under 40 are a bit dissapointing.

And I think PSA wont be taking in bulks for a long time, and then taking a year to get back, so spending 30-40 on a bulk UM to have your card tied up for 2 years is a no go.

These 2 express were held up because of thicker cards. Looks like they may have got some of the new slabs
