Opened a box, best card was a blue foil Carlson RC. Did they change some of the base photos from flagship? Seemed to be a mix of same and new.

Just an FYI — the SPs and variations are not reversed in the pack as they have been with recent Flagship releases. The Walk This Way, Dugout Peek, and OD Origins cards are pretty obvious from lettering on the front and distinct numbering on the back, and of course the blue foil are easy. But the base image variations are not easy to spot — be ready to get your magnifying glasses out and double check those codes.

Sps will be the last card. At least that's how the sp I pulled was like.

The base photo variations? That’s definitely not the pattern every time. I’ve pulled 2 from my case with 3 boxes left to go, and they were both toward the middle of the pack.

Most don’t pay any attention to a base OD card that is different from the player’s S1 card - unless it is the very short printed photo variation that is different from the OD base card.

Did you (or anyone) see many such cards this year?

Also 1/5 to 1/4 to 1/3 of the checklist will be players not in S1 at all, thus generally basically previewing their S2 card.

Lance Lynn, James McCann, and Josh Bell changed teams in December but someone already pointed out that Bell has a Pirates card in this. The ‘stove’ was a little cold in late 2020 with so much ‘21 uncertainty so maybe only Lynn and McCann would be candidates for ‘new’ cards in this but I doubt Topps would put in the work for that, this year.

This was the last card in one of my packs. I did have several cards that were backwards which was the 2nd to the last card. Thought they were sps but was not.

Bought two boxes to put together the base set.

My blues were;
Beau Burrows
Dee Gordon
Zack Greinke
Yup Darvish
Luis Castillo
Gavin Lux
Niko Goodrum
Kyle Lewis

The blues are really sharp cards

I have tons of inserts of anyone is interested in buying if you're putting together those sets.

I also hit this. It's a flag patch from Citizens Bank Park. These are 1:810 packs

I am assuming I just received a bad batch of cases since it seems others are hitting relics.

Finished my 3 cases and I hit 2 total relics in 3 cases. Odds were close to 19 total over 3 cases with the base relics being 3+ per case.

Only positive was my Opening Day auto in 2 of the 3 cases was Acuna.

I didn’t pull any variations yet, but I think it was the S2 players who have cards in this I was thinking were different photos. At least that added a little “new” to base set, as those cards hadn’t been seen yet.

Fun stuff to open got two hobby boxes the blue parallels are really nice looking cards, completed 1 set, and was 19 cards short for another set, and only had 2 base cards that ended up being extras.

Maybe just bad luck for me the blue foils seem to be in poor condition for me. The blue foil is slightly but noticeably peeled on a couple of cards and some others seem to show edge/corner dings. Not a big deal but still a bit of a bummer

Anyone ever hit multiple autographs out of a single Opening Day Box?? Crazy, been doing an Opening Day Hobby Box and usually some retail too every year for many years and my only autograph ever was a Wally the Green Monster auto from 2016. Here I hit a base autograph of William Contreras RC, and then a few packs later got a 1:11132 hit!!! Shin-Soo Choo Diamond relic autograph /50! Not massive but super cool for an Opening Day Box.
