The scratches they refer to on that sheet are significant, readily apparent without scrutiny, deep machine scratches. Not the ones that are common with these autos, where you have to put it under bright light and angle the card to see the scratches (still mostly done by rollers).

You shouldn't expect every card to grade a 9. That's not how this works.

Thanks for the input. You should see the scratch on my poor Jesse V lol :-) Nonetheless, you helped refine the issue, and I appreciate that, so lets get back to the point...this isn't about me, it's about what is Dave's policy on cards that would qualify as badly scratched by the standard you speak of...a scratch readily apparent and significant. Is there any way to get a replacement from Topps in this scenario when you've acquired the card though a Dave break? I am patient enough to wait for the man himself to respond. I appreciate the input from others, but...ya know, you're not Dave.

Are you asking Dave to inspect every chrome card as he breaks and packages for scratches? When these cases are done, he will be pushing around 65 cases.

yes I can provide wrappers and UPC if needed. no problem.


side note, and this is just my personal thoughts. Topps is going to ask for it to get lower than an 8 grade before replacing from recent experience.

Believe me, I wasn't trying to discourage you, but in my brief experience with Topps customer service regarding any issue, I have found them to be not very helpful.

I wish you luck with a replacement request and ask you to let us know how it goes.
