Wax always wins is such a misnomer. Buying wax at release and thinking hold for guaranteed profit is going to burn a lot of people. The only thing that matters is realized profits and as most will realize in a year, it's much harder to realize profits and "market" value on sale than you'd think.

This 19-20 mosaic debacle is just that, it's terrible for anybody trying to invest in 19-20 wax. Let's just hope Zion and Ja continue to surprise to the upside. Luka is a perennial MVP candidate, Trae was an all-star game starter in his second season, it's going to take nothing less than perennial all-star greatness from Zion/Ja to save 19-20 wax.

Huge amount of people have been buying-investing in wax since the late 80’s
Some with pallets of cases it’s no different now.
See 1989 UD bb as an example it was more crazy than it is now.
Been buying huge amounts of wax over the years and results........
a few swing and misses but the home runs far out number losses.

For the very very short term, after rising relentlessly for the last 10 days, the number of mega listings on eBay has peaked and started to very slowly decline. It will be interesting to see what next week brings. See if MJH has another big dump that pushes price down further, or if they have already dumped the bulk of it. I really don’t know. But there may be some motivation to have this through the system before hoops premium retail comes out, and then get that cleared out for 2020-21.

I have no idea how. I've searched on facebook for hours the past 2 days. Made multiple buying listings in multiple forums offering $110 a mega box. Have gotten exactly zero messages looking to sell for that price. I was lucky to find a few sellers I got about 20 total for $110-$113 a piece.

I've seen a couple FB posts with people selling at $100 but they disappear fast. I think $110 is smart because too many people crowded at the $100 level. Honestly anything $125 and under is good, even if they don't return to $300, getting back to $200 should be pretty easy so just like Chronicles I think there's too much focus on min-maxing and not just recognizing it as easy money. I'm gonna crack a couple tonight because $1.50/card is not a horrible rip

This thinking cost me $10 a box on Chronicles basketball blaster boxes. Which mattered quite a bit considering I bought over 100 of them. I know in the past it has been easy money. But we have now seen multiple products rerelease recently. If this happens again with the rumor about 19-20 Prizm basketball retail releasing again comes true I think sooner than later we are gonna be looking at junk wax era 2.0. At least when it comes to the endless supply of retail. Which with my luck and how much I'm now holding you can pretty much bank on it.

Yup. Seems to be true. I wandered over to the prizm board and that’s the buzz. It’s not reprint but another of these MJ Holdings sitting in a warehouse deals. I can’t imagine what the scene at the stores will be like when that comes out. It could get really nasty

Was not expecting to actually get any if it was stockex as my Meijer stocks on Wednesdays. Checked tonight to see of it had been there and saw 5 of the empty 9 box hanger displays. A quick $1K profit for whomever got them.

I'm hopeful Panini won't send us into another junk wax era. As evidenced by my username I have plenty left over from the late 90's. Here's my speculation: it sort of is another junk wax era, but different. There are millions of cards out there now, but there are 10-15x more sets as opposed to the 3 we saw in the good 'ole days. So, I think the value will hold on the high end stuff (NT, Prizm, Optic, etc).

Also, I'm not concerned that the Mosai, and potentially Prizm, that is hitting shelves again is over produced. As another poster mentioned the Mosaic boxes are stamped 4/20. Lest we forget the hysteria of the early days of the pandemic. I'm guessing getting basketball cards from the warehouses to the shelves was a low priority. Just my 2 cents

Fellas... we've entered a new era in the hobby now where holding mass product and quick flips is the new norm which is why you see TONS of this stuff in pictures... Its not necessarily being over produced... Prizm was produced just as much as this stuff... the difference is that people busted the crap out of that product because it wasn't a flippers market. Go check the PSA 10 reports for Zion/Ja and don't tell me prizm wasn't mass produced lol

Prizm was everywhere and the numbers of blasters/cellos was 5x any other product out there plus it was months of restocks.

Why are blasters so expensive? The hangers are going for $40-50 for 20 cards. The blasters are going for $100 for 32 cards. Megas for $140 ish for 80 cards. What is special with the blasters?

Massive supply dump of Megas and Hangers this week. I would be surprised if any of the Blasters at those prices are selling right now, but also no real reason for however few sellers there are to start undercutting one another.
