Crazy that you can pick up hangers now cheaper than when the market was flooded at release.

Decided to bust a few hangers since I'm picking up more. First 3 haven't disappointed so far:

Okpala RC Genesis
Kyle Kuzma Genesis
RJ Barrett Silver
Kendrick Nunn Orange
Ja Morant Debut

Honestly, it's pretty awesome that you can pick up hangers/megas at such price-points. It's a nice "opportunity"

By the way, nice break. 2 Genesis in 3 hangers is absolutely CRAZY. And the other cards are pretty damn sweet too.

Absolutely no hangers at any of our local Walmarts.

Each also only had 7-8 megas. Saw a lot of stores getting
8 mega and 30 hangers. Or 20 mega and 30 hangers.

Genesis are still some of the coolest things you can pull out of retail IMO. Jam Masters is one of my favorite insert sets of the year, and the "true silver" look great when they're not covered in dimples. Yes it's overproduced and the base are worthless, but I'd say that about anything retail. At least there's something to rip for (relatively) cheap again!

I think the PSA 10s of the base mosaic will be worth $$$ in the long haul. These cards are so iffy with damage ! Love them tho

Ours had 8 megas and 30 hangers come in today. Shouldn't be much left in the warehouse.....

I’ve opened quite a lot of mosaic retail, but not hit any genesis from mega boxes, only blasters and cellos. Are they in there?

There are definitely a lot of postings but it may not be quite that much. If you just search the phrase “mosaic mega” you pick up a lot of mosaic football, box breaks, and even singles where people put “from mosaic mega” in the title. I like to do a search using the phrase “2019-20 Mosaic Mega Box” with a price filter of >$100. That filters a lot of that stuff out. It misses a few where they post as “2020” instead of “2019-20”. But it doesn’t miss a lot. With this search the actual postings is around 700 plus maybe 50 or so that get missed by my search.

There's probably only 300 if you take out "break" and football.

Either way. All flipable retail is going straight to eBay and other sources not like when prizm came out and everyone was cracking it.

Facebook is down to 110 megas and 35 hangers all day if you buy in bulk. There are tons of this out there and god forbid more hits the shelves next week, it will get even cheaper. Don't lie to yourselves, there is a LOT of this stuff being reloaded shockingly. I don't know how distribution works but it's been a shocking amount of quantity and prices are deservedly tanking. Terrible for holders of all wax, even other brands because this is lowering the bar for all of them

yeah Im pretty depressed about the nice stash I had. I don't think the price will recover as well as Optic did. This is clearly the most produced product of 2019-20

This is how it’s always been, people just bought in to the Zion chase. I will always 100% understand prizm selling out immediately but it got crazy when products like prestige FB and even repacks were selling out immediately to resell. Once most those products tank back to a level where profit is very minimal for the effort I think it’ll go back to relatively normal in the stores

They made WAY more prizm retail than anything.

The flippers are different now and way less being opened.
People learned not to open wax anymore.
Eliminates all risk.

I'm happy they released more Mosaic. I missed out on it the first go around. For low end collectors like me this is like an early Christmas gift.

I don’t get a chance for a multi-store retail run too often. Rarely do they pay off. Today it worked to go and with recent success stories, I hoped for the best. I was actually mad I didn’t leave sooner because First store, nothing. Decided to try a WM closer to my last house, and there was the guy stocking. Jackpot! I walk up and scan for goodies and he tells me that someone has cleaned him out minutes earlier. Drat! He said someone was waiting for him even though he changes his time and day every week. We talked and he said someone bought $950 worth of stuff. He volunteered what store he was going to next though and he said he’s shared that with the others. He was nice about it and I told him I’d wait for him there. I go to store #3 expecting a crowd and no one is waiting—yet. Guys start showing up and buddies show up. The guy who spent a ton was there. It sounds like he stalks a lot of stores. He made it sound like he knows when stores are stocked but waited for hours last night at one without anyone showing up. Stalker had told me only guy waiting at the store bought all NFL Mosaic and he walked in and bought all the NBA. Since I was waiting first, I knew if there was anything shorted at this store I would get some. It turned out well for us as the stocker cracked boxes and all as everyone got an NFL Mosaic Mega, an NBA Mega, and we split up 36 hangers. That’s probably what the one guy bought single handed at the last store. We agreed that it’s only a matter of time until more stores limit purchases though. And I’m ripping all of this eventually.

People have to open boxes for prices to go up. I also invest in wax but let's not kid ourselves, there is WAY more risk in doing so today than there was a year ago. I'm not convinced at all that my 19-20 boxes are going to come anywhere close to my 2015-2018 boxes in terms of realized return in a year or two.

This 19-20 mosaic debacle is just that, it's terrible for anybody trying to invest in 19-20 wax. Let's just hope Zion and Ja continue to surprise to the upside. Luka is a perennial MVP candidate, Trae was an all-star game starter in his second season, it's going to take nothing less than perennial all-star greatness from Zion/Ja to save 19-20 wax.

Yeah. You can see it by Chronicles/Illusions. Moving forward wax will not be as profitable. When everyone is literally investing in wax it won't be as rare along with more production and a rookie class that may not turn out.

Everyone thinks...it will be like 18-19 eventually but it won't.

Singles are tanking so even less reason to open overpriced wax.
