I could put my 2 cent worth in on several things. It does very little good. The old story of Why, What, Where, When, How They are doing thing.

I think we all have an ideal on what maybe going on and what little they are telling us.

I'm having a hard time understanding how all the other modes of shipping and ebay shipping seem to go right on schedule, vastly before the economy shipping time period....and economy doesnt go out not just 3 months after shipment request, but an additional 2 weeks and counting. I wont be doing much if any buying on comc moving forward.
That's flat out terrible

So I have been buying on COMC for a couple years now but never sold. Obviously of all the horror stories right now I am hesitant to send anything in but I have a ton of cards that would sell for $5-$500. Do you think it would be wise to send them in to COMC or do you think they would sell better on Ebay?

I know what you are saying, but some responsibility has to lie with the first grading. I have willingly bought plenty of recently submitted cards that have notes at reduced. Now look at how many of the lower end Mosiac hoop cards that have surface wear and haven't been noted. COMC still takes the fee on those. Right or Wrong ? My main problem w/ COMC is that they can never find the middle ground.

I had one due 9/15. This is what they told me

"We are currently aiming to ship all non-rushed orders in at least 100 days from their request date, closer to 110-120 days. Given that this order was placed on 06/15, I expect it to ship by 10/15, likely earlier if lockdown restrictions are eased."

I'll be holding my breath, just like for my current year that was due 9/4 that's "two weeks out"

Second week in a row of them adding exactly one card to my port. At this rate my batch will be finished November of 2021. Ugh.

Go with ebay. Your stuff will be lucky to even be listed within 5-6 months. Let s not forget buyers are losing faith in COMC since the shipping dates cannot be trusted.

I have sent several batches of cards in over the last month and a half at both one and three week processing levels. Better than 90% have hit my account the day before or the the day they were due. The real backlog seems to be with the material sitting from before quarantine. I will point out that I split my submissions into smaller groups (i.e. 150-250 cards instead of a bigger group of 800-1000) so maybe that helps.

The selling has been great too. Hundreds of cards sent, listed, and sold in the last month and a half.

Issues they may have but there is still no better mousetrap out there.

I have been making a killing on sub 10 dollar cards on Ebay in recent weeks. For cards over about 200 dollars I would send to a consignor like Probstein. Main reason if there is an issue no sense in getting your money on Ebay tied up for weeks where your have to come to halt while it is resolved. A few dollars you can just either go ahead and refund or not be affected but a larger amount can tie your hands.

You mostly hear the squeaky wheels on here about COMC.

I have sent in seven 3-Week and 1-week submissions since April, and all have been processed in time except for a small number of cards that were uploaded very shortly after the due date.

The Current-Year Submissions are taking closer to 2 months to complete and they do not guarantee a time-frame for that service. So, use that service knowing that it will take a couple months for processing - not 3-weeks.

In my opinion, there is no better option to sell cards worth under $50 other than COMC. The time saved for me is worth way more than the fees I pay COMC to handle those cards. And not having to deal with problem buyers over small dollar cards is a huge plus.

For cards worth over $50 - I try them on eBay first with Buy-It-Now / Best Offer. If they do not sell within a month or two, they go to COMC. Some cards that did not sell on eBay, sell pretty fast on COMC for the same price or more sometimes.

Send in a small batch via 3-Week Guaranteed Service and do a trial run with COMC. See how it works for you and decide if you want to send them more.

Interestingly, I had a 5/8 batch that had nothing added through late September, period. I bugged them with emails every two days and they finally said a week and a half ago they’d look into it, and now pretty much all 500 cards in that sub were added to my account in the last 3-4 days.

Another sub I didn’t ask about because they have slowly been trickling in 5 cards a week still has about 100 cards to go after getting the first card added back in July.

According to their blog, which was updated September 28th, they are working on economy shipments that were due from Aug 26th through Sep 8th.

Processing right now seems to be:

1 Week - On Time
3 Week Guarantee - On Time...ish
3 Week Current Year - We'll get to it before the current year ends...maybe.
Basic - Bwah Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha

I wish they would suspend submissions for a few weeks so they can get caught up with their backlog of basic submissions.

Waiting indefinitely for submissions that were due 5 months ago isn't doing anybody any good.

Pretty sure for now COMC has shut down reprocessing declined items from old batches. Which makes sense due to the backlog. Is this ever coming going to come back? The only message I get is:

There was an error processing the request.

They just need to pay overtime and/or hire more processing folks. Suspending the submission will create a huge glut of submissions that will bombard them when they reopen things up.

They need to get to the point where they are meeting their obligations with current submission levels and then open things back up so that basic submissions can be a thing again.

True, hiring processing staff is key to solving the backlog.

It is unfair that new submissions get priority just because they are receiving higher fees.

Straight up lies.

If you pay $1-2 per card it will get listed quickly.

Cheap cards under $10-15? Dont bother with the 50 cent or same year submissions.

Does any COMC seller on here have luck selling Topps parallel gold #20xx singles? I have a full set of 2005 and 2004 singles I was thinking of sending in. I am going through the listings on COMC and only going to send those there are none of, or if there are listings ones I can price at $2 or more each. I know this will not be a quick flip endeavor but do you think they will sell steadily if they are the only one listed? Is there enough gold flagship set builders out there? Hesitant because it now costs 50 cents each to list but if I can average $2 per card it would still be worth it I think?
