Haven't seen that card yet. Nice interesting card. Probably one I'll have to wait for the prices to drop. Not interested in it at $150. I like golf though, or when I was younger at least.

It should drop to the $90-100 range at some point- slightly higher than the one from last year because the odds are slightly more difficult (assuming the variation set is equal). It’s a good image, though. It’s always a crapshoot when these first show up as you don’t k ow how rare they will actually be. So I’ve started bidding early at decent levels in hope they are more difficult pulls. When I offered on the first one I didn’t expect it to be accepted so soon, especially as it was the only one on eBay for about two days after. And it is usually the same people bidding. Haha.

I love Trout, but I’m not sure if his stats will beat Shane Bieber’s stats: 7 wins, 0 losses, 1.25 ERA, 0.85 WHIP, & 94 K’s in 57 innings. Those are some crazy good numbers.

I think the shortened season makes it even more likely the MVP goes to a field player, despite as good as Bieber has been.

That is the route I hope the voters will take! *crossing fingers*

They gave it to Kershaw in 2014 and Verlander in 2011 though..

In 2014 Verlander and Kershaw led their respective leagues in WAR in addition to having a lot of innings pitched. The voters are sticklers about innings pitched. No matter what Bieber's final line looks like his lack of innings pitched will likely mean he is a non-starter for MVP to the voters. Also Bieber only needs one mediocre or bad start to make his stat line look more mortal.

That said, I highly doubt Trout wins AL MVP this year unless Lou Bob falls off a cliff and Trout goes on a tear to finish the season.

Lack of innings pitched?

He's second in the AL behind Lynn. 6.2 innings separate them. Lynn went Tuesday, Bieber goes tomorrow.

Robert the MVP leader? Huh..?

I believe this deserves this response - what the hell are you talking about? Robert isn't even the best player on his team this year.

Sorry, guys am I missing something here? Seems my Robert take is being clowned but he is currently second in the American league in bWAR (behind Bieber) and leads the AL among position players. Overall, I don't see who on the White Sox is performing better, let alone the AL--at least analytically speaking.

As to the lack of innings pitched thing. What I meant was that in general, the voters are very picky about innings pitched. And with this year's shortened season, none of the pitchers will have pitched very many innings at all. True, postion players won't have played as many games either, it is all proportional--but they still play every day. For that reason I do not believe any pitcher will be considered for MVP this year. The voters are reluctant to do it in a normal year and this year is even more extreme in terms of their lack of workload.

I love and collect Trout and would to see him win his 4th MVP this year but he is not performing as well overall as Robert is (as least analytically). Of course Trout is performing better purely offensively though.
